on Tuesday to motor home to B. C.
Shower
Over sixty ladles of this community
gathered on Thursday evening last at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred New-
man to honour their daughter, Miss
Barbara Newman, with a miscellan-
eous shower, before her marriage this
week. Mrs. George Fisher acted as
Master of Ceremonies, and a short
program was presented. One humor-
ous feature of the program was a
mock marriage, which caused great
merriment A musical contest of the
marriage story was also enjoyed very
much by all, Mrs. Walter Bell sang
a solo, and Mrs. Robt, Ross and Mrs.
Dawson Craig, a duet. Mrs. Dan Tiffin
gave a piano solo, "Falling Waters."
After the parcels were opened, the
hostess served a dainty luncheon.

and Jean Simpson and John Simpson
of London, spent the week-end at the
home of the former's brother, Mr,
John McGee.
Anniversary services will be held in
the Presbyterian Church here this
Sunday at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. with a
concert and social evening in the
church on Monday night, All are in-
vited to attend.
Mrs. Marshall of Toronto, is visit-
ing at the manse this week with Rev.
and Mrs. R. D. A. Currie.
Mr, and Mrs. George Fisher and
family spent last Monday in London,
Masonic Service
Over eighty members of the Mason-
ic Order A. F. & A. M. of Lucknow,
Wingham and this community gather-
ed on Sunday morning in the village,
for the Masonic service in the Pres-
byterian Church here. Rev, R. D. A.
Currie conducted the service, assisted
by a former Pastor, Rev. John Pol-
lock of Wingham. The W. M. of Luck-
now Lodge, Mr. Fred Newman, read
the Scripture lesson, A quartette: Mr.
John McGee, Mr. J. D. Beecroft, Mr.
Gordon Leggatt and Mr. Alex Robert-
son sang two numbers. The visiting
lodge filled the centre pews of the
Church,
Mr, Nat Thomson was able to return
home front Wingham Hospital on
Thursday.

and Billie of Wingham, visited on
Sunday at the home of her sister, Mrs.
Cecil Falconer.

Bobby of London, visited over the

as their little son, Douglas, had injur-
ed his hand severely in the pressure
