Shiell presided far the meeting. The Scrip- ture passages were read by Mrs. Les- lie Wightman, Mrs. Frank Thompson and Mrs. R. M. Shiell, Mrs. W. J, Moores gave an Easter reading and Mrs Shiell led in prayer. Mrs.. Frank Thompson and Mrs. Shiell were ap- pointed as delegates to the Presbyter- ial at Clinton on Thursday. The warm sunny days over the week-end made long, busy days for the farmers in this community. It needed no turning on of clocks to in- duce farmers to be up and off to their Work in the drying fields. Communion service was held in the Presbyterian Church here on Sunday, with the members from Calvin church . also attending. The demonstration on "Oven Meals" from the Home Economics Depart- ment will be held on May 8th and 9th, in the Memorial Hall here, from 1.50 in this district are cordially invited to attend. Young Adult Group The Young Adult Group of the United Church met on Tuesday last in the S. S. room of the church with Mr. Ivan Laidlaw presiding. Mr. Clar- ence McClenaghan read the Scripture lesson and Marjorie Coultes led in prayer. Shirley Chapman gave a read- ing and Mrs. Jas. Falconer gave a very interesting talk on Marine Mis- sions in B. C. She gave the story of Peter Kelley, a missionary worker on the Thos. Crosby Mission boat. The meeting was closed by the Mizpah benediction, Mrs. Herson Irwin has been a pat- ent in Wingham Hospital this week, ' °flowing an operation on Monday. Irs. Gibson Armstrong and daughter, Gail of London, spent last week with Mr, and Mrs, Irwin. Mrs. Alex Neth- ery and daughter, Valerie of Hamil- ton, is visiting there this week.
