Head For The Classifieds!Preparing and celebrating was the theme for the annual Sunday School Christmas concert at Duff’s United Church on Sunday after­ noon, December 9. The program was well attended by parents, grandparents and friends. Gloria Wilbee welcomed everyone and thanked Marie Mc- Gavin for the Christmas Carols played prior to the program. The Welcome number was sung by the young students of the Nursery class, Jennifer McClure, Ashley Saur, Alesia Townsend, Sarah McDonald, Dana Smith and Mark Wilbee entitled “O Come Little Children” and “Happy Birth­ day Jesus”. Janice McCallum and Kelly McDonald did a step dance number. The beginner class acted a play “While Shepherds’’ including Brittney Holmes, Jeffery Linton, Darrell McClure, Robbie McClure, Chad Sommerville, Darryl Hou­ ston, Kenny McCallum, Patricia McClure, Scott McDonald and Kevin Wilbee. The class sang “Away in a Manger”. A piano duet was given to Stacy Linton and Lee Ann McDonald. A violin solo was given by Kevin Wilbee. The Primary Class members Melissa Dube, Mark Gillis, Paul Linton, Kelly McDonald, Katie Emmrich, Jillian Houston, Tina McClure and Nicholas Saur, all recited what each letter in Christ­ mas meant then sang Rudolph the red-nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus is coming to town and Silent Night, accompanied by Gloria Wilbee with her guitar. A sing-song of Christmas carols was led by Gloria Wilbee with Marie MGavin as pianist. The junior class put on a play “Fuzz- ies” by members, Shannon Davies, Craig Gillis, Charlene Little, Kerrie McClure, Lee Ann McDonald, El­ len Workman, Jamie Emmrich, Randy Linton, Chad McCallum, Colleen McCallum and Neil Saur. Lee Ann McDonald did a step­ dance followed by a piano solo by Sarah Lamble. The senior class put on a slide and music presentation on Your World. Those taking part were: Chris David, Sarah Lamble, Chris Saur, Heather Eckel and Stacy Linton. The junior choir sang “I prayed in*the Tub”. After the singing of Jingle Bells, Santa Claus arrived and distributed bags of candies. Gloria thanked everyone for their patricipation and the audience showed their appreciation. The 1990/91 Teachers of the Sunday School are: Co-ordinator, Gloria Wilbee; assistant, Jo-Ann McDonald; Nursery, Nita McClure and Linda Saur; Beginner, Heidi McClure and Connie Townsend; Primary, Donna McClure and Linda McDonald; Junior, Donna McClure and Linda McDonald; Senior, Maxine Houston; Babysit­ ters, Shannon Craig, Sharon God­ kin, Liz Lamble, Cindy McCallum and Lori McClure. Bonnie Cole Amal SALES & SERVICE LTD 887 9269 Royal Homes announces shut-down Royal Homes Ltd. in Wingham has announced a plant shut-down for two months this winter, com­ mencing Dec. 19 and running until sometime in March, according to company spokesman Peter Vene- ma. The shut-down affects produc­ tion workers, not office or construc­ tion staff, according to Mr. Vene- ma. A similar shut-down will occur at Royal Homes’ Peterborough plant as well. Mr. Venema said orders have been placed for the fall order­ spring delivery program, although not as many as last year at this time. Workers will be called back to the Wingham plant when there are enough orders to warrant it, he adds.
