Brussels Public School News BY BRENT PEPPER AND VICTORIA RICHARDS If you walk down the hall to the library and go into the room where the computers are kept you will find Brussels Public School special resource teacher, Mr. Dale Wan- less. As well as being a resource teacher he also teaches science to grade 7/8. We asked him what the focus of the science curriculum would be this year. He said he would be concentrating on creative thinking skills using the problem solving model as our vehicle. The reason he wanted to teach science to grade 7/8 was his interest in our outdoors and the chance to work with a really nice group of teenagers. Another important part of 7/8 science curriculum is small excur sions during the year. We also asked him why he decided to teach special resources. Mr. Wanless said he loves teaching and would be happy coaching others. He also said he liked teaching because of the changes every day. What he dislikes about teaching is sharing bad news with students. As most of you know, students received their report cards on Friday, Nov. 23, so we asked them what they expected to get on their report card. Ian Thompson from the 2/3 room said “No, I’m not afraid to get my report card because I usually get good marks’’, whereas Stephanie Patch from 3/4 said “I’m afraid to get my report card.” Vincent Bauer was the most optimistic. He said “I’m not scared. I want to get my report card. I like report cards. They are the best thing. I’m happy every day so I’m happy when 1 get my report card.” Amy Crawford said, “I think I’ll get “Excellent” and “Good” on most subjects.” Jonathon Pelke said “I want to get my report card because I like to get report cards. I like Kindergar ten and I like my teacher. I think I’m going to get a good report card.” Well, we hope they do get good report cards. The other person we asked was Richelie Joristma. She was excited to get her report card and she didn’t mind getting it. Grade 7/8 has been selling cheese for the past three weeks and have come to the end of the campaign. We’d like to thank everyone who supported us during our campaign. Deflated Little Stacy doesn’t seems to mind that her balloon is missing something. She and her mom were in Brussels on Saturday to shopattheSt. Ambrose Catholic Church Bazaar in the Library. HURON COUNTY CHRISTMAS BUREAU Donations gratefully received at: ST.
