Retirement Planning Seminars for Farm People are an opportunity to discuss components of a success­ ful retirement - an adequate in­ come, a variety of enjoyable activi­ ties, a flexible timetable and a healthy lifestyle. Five seminars co-ordinated by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food, farm couples and local sponsors will be offered during February and March, 1991 at Leamington, Gananoque (English and French) Alliston and Stratford. The registration fee of $100 per person double occupancy or $125 per person single occupancy pro­ vides overnight accommodation, meals and snacks, speakers, re­ source materials and hospitality. Big winner Richard Bergsma, RR 1, Londesboro (second from left) took home so much hardware for 4-H Swine Clubs that it took three people to help him. Presenting trophies were Larry Parker, TD Bank (left), Chris Hills, Huron County Pork Producers, and Brenda Teichert, National Trust. Richard won the Pork Producers Award, the Ed Watson Award, the TD and National Trust awards. Club hosts mixed bonspiel The Brussels Curling Club host­ ed its first mixed bonspiel on Saturday, November 24. This bon­ spiel was sponsored by Huron Feeding Systems and Cardiff and Mulvey Real Estate and Insurance. Nancy Exel presented the prizes to the winners of the 10 a.m. draw. In first place with 48 points was the team of Ken McDonald, Velma Locking, Howard Hackwell and Marg Taylor; second place, with 35.25 points was won by Brian Alexander, Joyce Alexander, Michael Alexander and Barb Alex­ ander; third with 34.25 points went to Mervyn Bauer, Donna Bauer, Orval Bauer and Ruth Bauer; fourth with 33.75 points went to Dave MacDonald, Wendy Mac­ Donald, Brad Clements and Sylvia Van Dongen; fifth, 29.25 points went to Peter Exel, Tami Allan, John Exel and Cheryl Clements. Sixth place was claimed by Jim Johnston, Nancy Exel, Rob Willie and Robert Grein. Seventh place was won by Don Eadie, Lloyd Michie, Ron McMichael, Wendall Stamper and Karen McMichael. Eighth place went to Pui Ng, Marilyn Brown, John Cummings and Jay Ng. Ernie Lewington presented the prizes to the winners of the 11:30 a.m. draw. First place with 46.75 points went to the team of Stew Steiss, Madelene Steiss, Brian Warwick and Keith Williams. Second place with 32.75 points was won by Bob Alexander, Tom War­ wick, Bob Steiss and Wayne Alex­ ander; third, 32.25 points went to Bill Shortreed, Valerie Shortreed, Rick McDonald and JoAnn McDon­ ald.
