The Founders Award was given to Mrs. Meyers in recognition of her dedication and contributions to the club. Top showperson Clinton resident Susan Meyers, daughter of George and Pat Lang lois of Brussels was recently recog nized for her dedication and hard work with the local Kinette Club at a convention in Stratford on November 3. Mrs. Meyers was presented with the Founders Award, the top Kinette award in Canada. “It was a complete surprise for her,” said Mrs. Langlois. “She didn’t have any idea she was getting the award and that made it even more special.” The award is given annually to Kinettes who have shown a dedicated effort to the club based on the past three years of service. The winners are chosen on an accumulated points system. Mrs. Meyers, who moved to Brussels from Sudbury with her parents when she was five, was educated at Brussels Public School and F. E. Madill then went on to Fanshawe College where she studied Business Law and Admini stration for two years. Upon her marriage to Bill Meyers she moved to Mitchell. She has been involved in Kinettes for six years. While a member of the Mitchell Kinettes served as Club President and on several executive positions as well. She won a zone award for her work there as Bulletin Editor. In addition to winning the Foun ders Award, Mrs. Meyers’ work as Clinton Kinette President was re cognized at the convention as well. She was one of this year’s recipi ents of the Outstanding Presidents Award. Mrs. Meyers is modest about this achievement noting that two other past presidents, Marie Jefferson and Bev Riley of the Clinton Club, have received the top national award as well. Mrs. Langlois said her daughter is actively involved in many com munity service groups and she works very hard for all of them. She has been on fundraising for the child-care centre and does church work as well. She and her husband work at the Home Hardware in Clinton and have three children, Curtis 7, Maurissa 4, and Brent 11 months. wirF > The t Golden Lantern 1 Restaurant ® *)<w£te£ to- cUae (Mtk ctol We offer you: • Homemade Soup & Pies • A Relaxing Atmosphere • Home Cooked Entrees • Fully Licenced under the R i@ We have a private dining room for up to 26 persons and offer you a varied menu.
