Ushers were Evelyn, Tim and Christy Caldwell and Kathy Fraser. Rev. Ramirez led in the call to worship followed by prayers of approach and confession. Hymns were “Praise the Lord, ye heavens adore Him’’, “Amazing Grace’’ and Beneath the Cross of Jesus’’. The senior choir’s anthem was entitled “Redeeming Love’’ accompanied by Mrs. Phyllis Boak. In charge of Junior Congregation was Anne Elliott. Karen Stewart was Nursery leader. It was announced that there will be an Evening Unit Christmas meeting at 8 p.m. on Nov. 28. The last Coffee Break Bible Study before Christmas will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 28. A special Christmas program is planned. There will be a Stewards meeting Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m. The mass choir practice starts Thurs­ day, Nov. 29 at 8 p.m. at Blyth United Church. Our regular senior :hoir practice will be held at 7 p.m. Next Sunday, the annual Sunday School Christmas Concert will be held. It is also “White Gift Sun­ day’’ and Family Sunday. The scripture reading was Ephe­ sians 2 (1-10) and the sermon title was “By God’s Grace”. The theme af Rev. Ramirez message was that the best grace God has given uS is salvation and that it cannot be earned through good works. Good works are merely a by-product of our faith. Rev. Ramirez referred to the story of Babel, when man tried to Horticultural Society sees decorating demonstration The Blyth Horticultural Society held their Christmas meeting on Nov. 13 at the Blyth Memorial Hall beginning with a pot luck dinner. Special guests were Wilma Scott and Deanna Snell from “Christmas and Country”, Blyth who demon­ strated Christmas arrangements and decorations for the home. Trudy Passchier, accompanied by Phyllis Boak, sang solos with a Christmas theme, which were greatly appreciated throughout the meeting. Draws for prizes concluded the enjoyable evening.
