Mrs. Nicholls along with other staff members of the Bank of Commerce, took the opportunity to enjoy a home-cooked meal during lunch hour as well. 10 tables at Brussels IOOF euchre party Ten tables of euchre were played on November 19 at Brussels IOOF and Rebekah Lodge rooms. The prizes went to: high lady, Mary Clark; low lady, Kate Wilson; high man, Bert Johnston; low man, Mrs. Alice Nicholson; most lone hands, Marion Young. The next euchre party will be in January. Brussels Mary and Jack Bryans have received a letter from Duane Ainlay stating that his father, John A. Ainlay passed away on August 16 in his 83rd year. John was the great-grandson of Wm. Ainlay, the founder of Ainlay- ville, which is now Brussels. He js fondly remembered by many peo- Legion donates BY SANDRA JOSLING On Monday, November 19, there was the general meeting of the Brussels Legion. In attendance were Ed Pyette, Deputy Zone Commander and June Pyette, Zone Secretary. A motion was put forth for the following donations from the Legion Nevada fund: Brussels Santa Claus parade, $350; Salva­ tion Army, $500; Town and Coun­ try Homemakers, $25; and the Ted Foster Memorial Christmas Tree fund. Also on Nov. 19 was mixed darts. The winners were John Harrison and Colleen Martin and second was Jean Little and Adam Smith. High scorer for the women went to Kitty Rutledge and high scorers for the men was Adam Smith. Next dart night is Nov. 26 at 8 p.m. There will be euchre at the Brussels Legion Wednesday, Nov. 28, cost is $1.50 per person. Cards will start at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to play. The Ainlay Tank Tester was his invention. In younger years he entertained ser­ vice clubs as an amateur magician. Mrs. Ainlay predeceased him seven years ago. Brussels’ friends extend their sympathy to the Ainlay family.
