Brussels PeeWees
trounce Mitchell 6-1
Got it
A Drayton player helps his goaltender foil a chance by an unidentified Brussels Crusader player
during a game Saturday night in Brussels. Unfortunately too little of the action was around the
Drayton net and too much around the Crusaders net as the home team was pummelled 12-6.
The Brussesl Pee Wees travelled
to Mitchell on Saturday and upset
the home team by a score of six to
one.
Shawn Nicholson led the scoring
in the final two minutes of the first
period. He was assisted by Dave
Lewington and Jeff Lewington. The
Mitchell team came back in the
second period to tie the score, then
Shawn once again slid the puck
past the Mitchell goalie off a play
by Randy Beuerman. With only a
minute and a half left in the second
period Mike Dauphin scored off
Dave Lewington, giving the Brus
sels team a two goal lead.
In the third period the Brussels
team put on a strong offensive
scoring three goals. Jamie Smith
led the attack scoring off Brad
Mulvey and Shane Wilson. The
second goal of the third period was
scored by Dave Lewington, with
assists going to Troy Williams and
Tom Pearson. Then with just a little
under three minutes left in the
game, Randy Beuermann widened
the margin off a play by Trevor
Machan ending the scoring for the
game.

The first period was scoreless
but with lots of end-to-end action
with both teams’ goaltenders mak

game tied at zero.
The second period was barely 30
seconds old when Dan Hill and
Darren Foerter combined to set up
Mark Leslie for the goal. Brussels
increased their lead to two goals
when Jamie Robinson finished off a
play set up by Dave Wheeler and
Dan Hill. The second period ended
with the Crusaders holding a 2-0
lead.
The third period was 16 seconds
old when Milverton cut the lead to
one when Matt Carter deflected a
Jeff Buchanan shot for the goal. It

However, this was not the case as
Brussels opened the scoring at
13:42 of the first and never looked
back as Marty Rutledge scored an
unassisted goal. Paul Brophy
notched the second Bulls’ goal on a
nice three-way passing play from
