He would like to enter the Guiness Book of World Records by receiving the largest number of “Get Well’’ cards. Our grade 7/8 class made cards to send to Craig to help him achieve his wish and to send him our thoughts and best wishes. If any reader would like to send Craig a card, his address is: Craig Shergold, 38 Shelby Rd., Carshalton, Surrey, S.N.S.I.L.D., England. Every Wednesday morning grades 7 and 8 got to F. E. Madill for Family Studies and Industrial Arts. In our I.A. classes we have been building spaghetti bridges. After we build the bridges we test them for strength and stress. The Family Studies class is studying family structures. They are sewing paper patterns and making pin cushions in the practi cal part of the class. On Friday, October 19, grade 7/8 organized a Halloween dance for grades 6, 7, and 8. They also had several guests from Tumberry Central School. The chaperones were Ross and Judy Somers and the D.J.’s were Curtis Graber and Dan McNeil. We thank them for their help in making our dance a success. North Huron Cross Country meet was held on Oct. 17 at Wingham Golf Course. The regular season for soccer is over and we will be into the playoffs. Team standings are: Boys - Sky Hawks, first; Dwarfs, second; Field Rats, third; Living Skulls, fourth. Girls - Funky Punks, first; Soccer Stars, second; Beautiful Boosters, third; Soccerettes, fourth. Last week the primary class visited Perrie’s Pumpkin Patch at Wroxeter. It was an exciting and learning-filled excursion for the small students. On Monday Mrs. Cousins and her grade 5’s will be visiting the Wawanosh Nature Centre to do a stream study with the instructors there. On Tuesdays and Thursday, through the fall, you may see children walking away from the school at 1 o’clock. They are going to the Public Library with the school librarian, Mrs. Raymond, where Mrs. Nichol has a program to introduce them to the facilities and resources available for their use. Thanks, Mrs. Nichol. We appreciate your help. Bluevale 4H elects executive BY KARRI-ANN NICHOLSON Bluevale I 4H club gathered together for its first meeting on Oct. 1 at the home of Ralph and Sharon Darlow. Members intro duced themselves, then held an election for president. The executive is Tatum Mathers, President; Tanya Kleist, Vice President; Nancy Darlow, secretary and Karri-Anne Nicholson, press reporter. Each received a cross word puzzle on Heritage. They made candles like the pioneers did. Meeting Two was held on Oct. 15 at the Darlow residence. When they arrived, members walked to the cemetery and did gravestone rubbings. When they returned back to the Darlow’s they made wild rice soup. They received their books and worked on them while the wild rice was cooking. When the soup was ready some enjoyed it, others set the bowl aside. Then the meeting was adjourned. Book lover Nicole Lowe seems to have found a good book as she browses through the items at the Brussels Rebekah’s annual Spring Variety Fair held this past weekend in the basement of the Library.
