The Bulls remain undefeated, scoring their fourth victory of the season. Friday night the Brussels Bulls Jr. C. hockey club travelled to Acton for an 8:30 start. A tight-checking first period saw only one goal being scored off the stick of rookie Brian Zabel of the Bulls on a pass from Steve Fritz and Greg McNevan with 1:06 left in the first. A very small ice surface seemed to have the Bulls confused in the first period. However in the second period the Bulls took com­ mand of this game as Corey McKee scored from Bevin Flett at 16:55. Mike Rusk scored for Acton at 13:19 from Adam Hilts. The Bulls scored the next five goals in the period as Brian Zabel knotched his second of the game from Greg McNevan at 13:11. Jeff McKee got a goal at 11:14 on a pass from Brett Long and Corey McKee. Steve Fritz fired a shot past the Acton goalie at 10:37 on a nice two way passing play from Brian Zabel and Greg McNevan. Shawn Chipchase scored on a scramble in front of the net on a pass from Jeff Jewitt at 9:07. The Bulls closed out the scoring at 7:12 of the second on a goal from Brett Long from Corey McKee and Jeff Walker. Jeff Roy played excellent goal for 40 minutes. Starting the third was Port Elgin native Scott Thede. The Bulls scored at 15:46 of the third as Greg McNevan netted his first goal of the year with assists going to Steve Fritz and Craig King. Acton scored their second goal of the game at 11:59 as Adam Hilts scored form Rich Bond and Mike McElroy. The final goal of the game came off the stick of Adam Hilts of the Sabres with assists going to Rich Bond. The game ended with the Bulls cruising to an 8-3 victory to remain undefeated for the first three games of the season. Sunday a crowd of 300 saw the Bulls’ home opener against the Mt. Forest Patriots. The Bulls jumped into the lead at 6:59 of the first on a power-play goal as Brett Long scored on a pass from Joe Walker and Steve Michie. The Bulls rounded out the scoring of the first as Corey McKee scored on a nice pass from Brett Long and Craig King with 1:23 left in the period. Mt. forest came out flying in the second as Brian Nelson scored an unassisted goal at 17:21 to cut the Bulls lead to one. Mt. Forest tied the score with a power play goal at 11:30 as Chris Vokes scored from Dave Walker and Lance Blomberg. Bulls regained the lead with 2:58 left as Corey McKee scored his second goal of the game on a pass from Brett Long and Jamie Gibb- ings. The Bulls skated to the locker with a one goal lead. As in previous games in the third it's all Bulls. Paul Brophy scored at 17:52 from Marty Rutledge. Forty- five seconds later Captain Ron Strome scored in a pass from defenceman Joe Walker. The Bulls scored their fifth power-play goal of the game off the stick of Marty Rutledge on a quick pass from centre Paul Brophy at 15:28. The Bulls closed out the scoring at 1:50 as Marty Rutledge slipped a shot past goalie Jason Moyce on a pass from Brett Leng and Greg Mc­ Nevan.
