Magenta and mauve theme of September wedding NICHOLSON - SHAW Mary Lee-Anne Nicholson and Barry James Shaw were united in marriage at a candlelight service at Bluevale United Church at 4:30 D.m. Saturday, September 1 with Rev. Bonnie Cole Amal officiating. Before the service began the candles at the altar were lit by Tammy Kieffer and Steven Baxter. Lee-Anne is the daughter of Keith and Carol Nicholson of RR 2, Bluevale and Barry is the son of Jim and Frances Shaw of RR 1, Bluevale. accented with sequins, pearls and lace appliques. Her gown was accented by a cathedral train with rows of ruffles, lace and sequins. Lee-Anne carried a bouquet of white, magenta mauve roses accen­ ted with pearls. Lee-Anne’s sister Cheryl of RR 2, Bluevale was maid of honour and bridesmaids were friends of the bride Jacquie McNichol of Seaforth and Lisa Henry of RR 1, Bluevale. Francine Shaw of RR 1, Bluevale, sister of the groom, served as Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a floor-length gown of white satin. The bodice of the gown was accented with sequins, pearls and lace appliques and featured leg-o-mutton sleeves, also junior bridesmaid. All the girls wore cocktail-length, magenta sa­ tin dresses featuring a V-neckline and gathered bodice, they carried bouquets of white, magenta and mauve roses. Lee-Anne’s niece Coral Nicholson of Bluevale was Lee-Anne and Barry Shaw flower girl wearing a floor-length white organza dress with puffed sleeves and rows of lace ruffles around the skirt. Mark Breckenridge of RR 2, Bluevale, friend of the groom, was best man. Guests were ushered by Dean Nicholson of RR 1, Bluevale, cousin of the bride; Paul Shaw of Wingham, brother of the groom and Shawn Nicholson, RR 2, Blue­ vale, brother of the bride. Miss Tammy Kieffer read the scripture during the service. Mrs. Th’^^lytl^hristian Puppeteers Will be performing for the Sunday School Hour between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7,1990 at the Church of God Mary Lou Johnston was pianist and Mrs. Etoile Johnston was the organist. Mr. Bruce Robertson of Gorrie was the soloist. He sang “The Wedding” and “The Gift of Love”. The senior choir’s anthem was entitled “Sometimes Alleluia”, accompanied by Mrs. Phyllis Boak. Scripture reading was James 4 (13-17) and 5 (7-11) and it was the basis for the sermon entitled “Accept God’s Will With Pa­ tience.” Announcements were as follows: The annual harvest bonan­ za will be held Oct. 18, 19 and 20. Used clothing, shoes, hats, etc. should be at the church by Oct. 15. If you have items for the Silent Auction phone Barb Musty at 523-4367 or Mildred Ament at 523-4230 and have these items at the church by 11 a.m. on Oct. 9. On Oct. 4 the Junior and Intermediate choir practice begins at 3:45 for children grades 2 - 8 held weekly. Coffee Break begins Wednes­ day, Oct. 3 at 9:45 in Blyth United Church with guest speaker Barb Hicks. Nursery will be provided at the Christian Reformed Church and regular meetings begin Oct. 10 from 10 - 11:30 a.m. for seven weeks. Keep in mind next week is Thanksgiving Sunday, also Com­ munion Sunday and Family Sunday #1. Each child is asked to bring a non-perishable grocery item for donation to “Survival Through Friendship House”.
