Phone 523-4360 Happy Gang meets The September meeting of the Bluewater Club for the Blind met on Tuesday evening, Sept. 18 at the Day Care Centre for the Home­ bound with 28 in attendance. The meeting opened with 0 Canada followed by the Lord’s Prayer in unison. Ken Lingleback gave a humorous reading “A three year old’s version of what is a Grandmother”. The minutes of the last meeting were read and roll call was taken up. The business meeting followed. Bowling was discussed at length and it was decided to leave it over until spring. The Thanksgiving dinner was brought to the attention of members. It will be Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 6 p.m. in Ontario Street United Church, Clinton. It was moved and seconded that the President Marjorie Malloney be a delegate to the Ontario C.C.B. Convention in Sarnia in May. The collection was taken up, also a special collection of $84 for the overseas blind was received. It was reported that 40 people Children’s choices sermon topic Greeters at Londesboro United Church on Sunday, September 30 were Glen and Doreen Carter. Ushers were Rick Konarski and Neil Salverda. The sermon topic was “Children and their Choices”. Junior Youth Group will meet Thursday, October 4, 7 - 9 p.m. at Hullett Central School for a volley­ ball game. Holy Communion is next Sunday. Bible Study and Prayer Group will meet at the manse on Tuesday, October 2 at 1:30 p.m. The workship and music commit­ tee will meet Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. at the church. Next Sunday’s sermon title is “God’s Impressible Gift”. Auburn anniversary service is Sunday, October 14 at 10 a.m. There will be no service at Londes­ boro Church. attended the play “Annie Get Your Gun’’ on August 21 at Grand Bend and returned to the White Carna­ tion, Holmesville for dinner. The meeting adjourned. Games were played and lunch was served by the Sorority girls. The September meeting of Happy Gang Seniors was held at the hall on Wednesday afternoon, September 26 at 1:30 p.m. President Clara Riley opened the meeting with the singing of O Canada. Clara welcomed everyone. Beth Knox gave a reading, “What is a Good Manager”. Minutes of the June meeting were read and approved. Roll call was answered by 26 members. A thank you was read from Marion and Jack Snell. The Fall Rally is at Bayfield Community Centre on Tuesday, Oct. 16. Regi­ stration is 12 - 1 p.m., $3.00 person. A thank you was read from Isabel Scanlon for sympathy cards received at the death of her brother. Clara read an amusing piece. Six tables of euchre were played. Winners were: men’s high, Reta Kelland, (playing as a man); men’s lone hands, Jim McEwing; men’s low, Reg Lawson; ladies’ high, Trudy Pollard; ladies’ lone hands, Margaret Taylor; ladies’ low, Alice Buchanan. Treasurer’s report was given by Laura Lyon. Lunch was served by Helen Lawson and Edythe Beacom. Birthday cakes were made by Reta Kelland and June Fothergill.
