So we did just that; we went to the office to talk to Mrs. Isabell Prior. We thought that Mrs. Prior doesn’t get enough commendation or thanks for all she does for our school. We went behind the scenes to find out more about her. Isabell Prior has been the ener getic secretary at B.P.S. for 14 years. She took time off five years ago to have a sweet little girl named Laurie, who has this year begun kindergarten. Isabell’s husband, Jim, is the Grade 6/7 teacher. We asked Mrs. Prior what it was like to work with your spouse and in fact to have your whole family at work most days. She responded that it works well for them and that it is good not to have babysitter fees at least on kindergarten days. Before Isabell came to Brussels P.S. she worked in a lawyer’s office for a time. Then she worked in the bank for a year. Isabell is too busy with her secretarial job at the school to have many hobbies. Of course, she is a homemaker and a mother, two more full-time occupations. Family leisure time activities include camping. Isabell takes her work seriously, but enjoys every minute of it. So drop in at the office and say “hello” to our secretary. She’ll help you with all your needs. She is the “heart” of our school. to Craig King and rookie Greg McNevan.
