Phone 526-7589 Auburn WMS meets The September meeting of the Auburn Presbyterian Women’s Missionary Society was held at the home of Carole Daer. The president Martha Daer pre­ sided and opened the meeting with a reading entitled “Faith is a Mighty Fortress’’. Words of wel­ come were spoken to all present. The devotional period was taken by Frances Clark. The scripture portion was taken from Colossians the 3rd chapter. It was read alternately. The meditation was entitled Peace, followed by prayer. Marion Haggitt gave a reading on “The Windows of God”. A poem entitled “September” was read by Martha Daer. The closing prayer was given. Rev. Paul Ross conducted the morning service at Knox United Church and Mrs. Gordon Gross was organist. Rev. Ross gave the Call to Worship. The hymn, “God who spoke in the beginning” was sung, followed by the children’s story. The chorus response “New Every Morning” was sung. The hymn “He Lives” was sung. Rev. Ross read several scriptures and his sermon was entitled “Sleep - Talking with God”. Rev. Ross gave the Prayer of Thanksgiving and Concern and The Lord’s Prayer was repeated in unison. Offering was received by Peter Verbeek and Ken Ramsey and dedicated. The hymn “There is Sunshine in my Soul today’’ was sung. Rev. Ross pronounced the benediction and the response, “Now Thank We All Our God” ended the service. New 411 club starts Area couple return The Auburn 4H club called “Our Heritage” began on Monday, Sep­ tember 17 at 4:15 at the library. Members must be 11 before Janu­ ary 1, 1990. The Beans also visited their nephew Trevor Vod- den of Calgary. Silver Tops meet Best wishes to Patti McDowell and Pat Cronin who were married at Knox United Church on Satur­ day, September 15. The Junior Youth Group of Knox United Church forthose in grade 6, 7 and 8 will meet on Thursday, September 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the manse. Their first activity will be a wiener roast. For more information talk to Paul or Denise Hulley. The fall meeting of the Silver Tops will begin with a pot luck dinner at the Auburn Community Hall on Wednesday, September 26 at 12 noon. This is an important meeting and will be the election of officers. The Fall Rally will be held in October. If possible try and be present. HENSALL LIVESTOCK SALES LTD.
