The Citizen, 1990-09-12, Page 25Obituaries PEARL LUELLA HAMILTON Mrs. Pearl Luella Hamilton of Londesboro died Wednesday, Sep­ tember 5, 1990 at Clinton Public Hospital. She was 85. Born in Hullett Township on September 1, 1905, Mrs. Hamilton was the daughter of the late George Simon Moon and Martha Ellen Tufts. She married William Watt Hamilton who predeceased her. Mrs. Hamilton was a member of the Londesboro United Church. Those left to mourn her passing are her children: Shirley and her husband Murray Lyon pf Londes­ boro; Helen and her husband Milton Dale of RR 4, Clinton; and Lenora and her husband Everett Lamont of RR 1, Holyrood. Also surviving are six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hamilton will be dearly missed by her sisters Mary (Mrs. Moodie) Holland of Blyth and Olive (Mrs. Lome) Heels of Weston. One brother, Carman Moon predeceas­ ed her. A private funeral service was held on Friday, September 7 at 1:30 p.m. at the Beattie-Falconer Funer­ al Home “Ball Chapel’’. Rev. Paul Ross officiated. Flower bearers were Mrs. Hamilton’s granddaugh­ ters: Deb Lamont, Deanna Lyon, Carol McClure and Kathy Rueger. Pallbearers were Brent Lamont, Bradley Lyon, Dave McClure, Don /Rueger, Ken Moon and Larry ’ Walsh. Interment was held at Bum’s Cemetery in Hullett Township. REBECCA O’KRAFKA A former Gorrie resident Rebec­ ca O’Krafka (nee Millar) passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 1990 in the Fordwich Nursing Home. She was in her 89th year. Mrs. O’Krafka was the loving mother of Marie Irwin and her husband Don of Carleton Place, and Tom O’Krafka and his wife Audrey of RR 1, Bluevale. She will be sadly missed by four grandchild­ ren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Mrs. O’Krafka is also survived by three sisters. Predeceasing her were her husband Claus, who died in May of this year, one son Edward in June of 1946 and four brothers. At the request of the deceased there was no visitation at the funeral home and a private family service was held on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. with interment to follow at St. James Lutheran Cemetery in Elmira. JESSE KENNETH LEE ROLLINS Jesse Kenneth Lee Rollins of Fordwich passed away as a result of an accident on Wednesday, September 5, 1990. He was six years of age. Jesse was the beloved son of Nelson and Christine Rollins of Fordwich and the brother of Amy and Troy, both at home and Trevor of Listowel. He is survived by his paternal grandfather Kenneth Cole, his maternal grandparents Murray and Evelyn Rollins, and his great-grandmothers, Nettie Cole of St. Marys and Vema Sutherland of Stratford. Jesse will be dearly missed by his many aunts and uncles. His grandmother Betty Cole predeceased him. Jesse rested at Betts Funeral Home in Gorrie until a private family service was held on Satur­ Bell announces expenditures in Blyth The installation of new telephone cable and other service improve­ ments accounted for $20,000 in capital expenditures last year for Bell Canada’s 872 customers in the Village of Blyth. The major project involved installing new cable be­ tween Blyth and Clinton. In addition, Bell’s payroll ex­ penses in 1989 amounted to about $3.7 million for the company’s 103 employees serving its customers in Stratford and the surrounding region. As well, Bell paid about $20,025 last year in municipal taxes to Blyth, including $829 in realty taxes, $249 in business taxes and $18,947 in Gross Receipts taxes. The Gross Receipts tax is set at 5 per cent of all telecommunications revenue from Bell operations in Ontario during the preceding year. The amount allotted to each municipality is based on the num­ ber of Bell telephones installed. In 1989, this tax was $30.35 per telephone.
