Clerk-treasurer Helen Giubb said that in her conversations with the Ministry of Environment (MOE) officials they have advised that getting equipment to monitor the level of sound “could get into a tremendous amount of money’’ and that training to operate the equip­ ment is necessary. “You have to know what you’re doing’’, she said. The advice was to “keep it simple” Mrs. Grubb said. Council had contacted the MOE after com­ plaints from neighbours after dances held on the arena floor. If it doesn’t improve we may have to go at it again.” Councillor Steven Sparling who had been absent at the prior council meeting when the issue was first raised, said he thought the issue had been very well handled by his fellow councillors with all the alternatives looked at and a little common sense used in the end.
