A graduate of Seaforth District High School, Tracey is the daughter of Don Fischer of RR 3, Brussels and is sponsored by Brussels Livestock Inc. She is attending Listowel District Secondary School where she is completing her OAC (Grade 13) semester. Sue is sponsored by the Cran- brook Women’s Institute. MARYTERPSTRA Mary Terpstra, 18 of RR 3, Brussels is representing Todd’s Bakery. A Grade 13 student at Listowei District Secondary School, she is the daughter of Charlie and Catherine Terpstra. KATHY McMILLAN Kathy McMillan, 19, of Brussels is in her first year of study in the Law ano Enforcement Program at Georgian College. Kathy is the daughter of Barb and Cam McMillan and is sponsored by The Citizen. DAWN ENGEL Dawn Engel, 17, of Brussels attends F. E. Madill Secondary School in Wingham, whereshe is in Grade 12. Sponsored by Brussels Women’s Institute, Dawn is thedaughter of Barry and Diane Engel. FRANCES SMITH Frances Smith, 20, a Grade 12 honours graduate of F. E. Madill is presently enrolled in the RNA program in Wingham. Frances is the daughter of Adam and Kae Smith of Brussel sand is spon­ sored by the Brussels Hotel. MARGARET JARVIS Margaret Jarvis, 17, is represen­ ting the village of Brussels. A Grade 12 student at F. E. Madill Secondary School in Vyingham, Margaret is the daughter of Mary and Frank Stretton of Brussels. New classes added to prize list Brussels Fall Fair is only two weeks away and this year several new classes have been added to the prize list for exhibitors. Homecraft Director Leona Armstrong says that parents should encourage their children to participate in the exhi­ bition as it provides an excellent learning experience for them. “It has been a showcase for talents in our area for many years.’’ This year for the first time there are five Reeve Specials, which have been donated by the four area township reeves and the village reeve. In the agriculture division Reeve Doug Fraser of Morris has given prize money of $8, for first, $5 for second and $2 for third to the best garden basket displaying five garden products. East Wawa- nosh Reeve Ernie Snell has given $15 for the most points accumulat­ ed by someone in the grain division, classes 11 to 21. For homecraft exhibitors McKil- lop Reeve Marie Hicknell has donated three cash prizes for a chocolate layer cake. Both Grey Reeve Leona Arm­ strong and Brussels Reeve Gordon Workman have given prize money ELIZABETH PRESCOTT Elizabeth Prescott is 17-years- old and is the daughter of Jean Prescott. She is sponsored by Brussels Auto Sales. Liz is in Grade 12 in Listowel District Secondary School. in the Intermediate section, a new one for boys and girls between the ages of 13 and 18. Mrs. Arm­ strong’s category is for Teddy Bear Bread while Mr. Workman has offered prize money for the three top flower arrangements done in sneakers. In the hobby crafts division the committee has added a category for photography this year. Entries can be a 5 x 7 or 8 x 10 pictorial snapshot, six coloured snaps of farm animals, or one coloured snap with appropriate caption. All must be mounted*and there are three prizes for each. There are also this year the Fleischmann’s Yeast Special and the Five Roses Flour Pie Baking Special. Prize money for the first is $25, $20 and $15 and for the latter, $30 $25, $25. Also new this year is a Seniors Handwriting class. Prize lists with complete details can be picked up at the Brussels Post Office or in Blyth at The Citizen. In the exhibit area there will be demonstrations of spinning by Harriet Boone and Cake decorating SANDY EARL Sandy Earl, daughter of Beth and Gary Earl of RR 2, Listowel is a Grade 12 student at Listowel District Secondary School. Sandy is sponsored by the Ethel Women’s Institute. by Jane Draper. Secretary Treasurer of the Agri­ cultural Society Barb Mutter note^ that there were other changes the fair as well this year, the first being the upcoming dance this weekend. Billed this year as the Queen of the Fair and Family Dance the Ag. Society has opted for an unlicensed event as many of the contestants are under age. It’s an idea, she said, that has been “kicked aroqnd before’’. Admis­ sion is $5 with under 12 free. On the Tuesday night, Septem­ ber 18, there will be a talent contest instead of a variety night. It is open to anyone and there are three age groups with prize money of $20 for first place in each, $15 for second and $10 for third and $5 for fourth. Age categories are: under nine, 10 to 18, and 18 and over. Mrs. Mutter explains that contestants in each of these will compete in one of three groups: vocal, instrumental or specialty. Contestants must pre-register by September 16 and may do so by calling Mrs. Mutter at 887-6117.
