Phone 887-9487 Visitors attend 100th birthday party Dr. John Mowbray of Ganges, B.C. and Mrs. Helen Strange of Edmonton called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Taylor on Sunday, August 26. John and Helen were visiting with their father Mr. Alex Mow­ bray of Lucknow who celebrated his 100th birthday on Saturday, August 25. On Sunday, August 26, the family picnic of 40 Edgar relatives met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Park, Jason, Meghan and Jeremy of Petrolia. Those present were from Lucknow, Wingham, Aylmer, Tavistock, Brigdeau, Blyth, Petrolia, London and Bel­ grave. A family reunion of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Wightman’s relatives was held in the W.I. Hall Sunday, August 26, with 41 relatives pre­ sent from Fergus, Mississauga, Bolton, Toronto, Lucknow, Sarnia, Stratford, Hanover, Sebringville and Stoufville. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Gordon and Margie have just returned home from their vacation to the Northern States and -three western provin­ ces. In the business a variety night was planned later in the fall. Most of the ball games are over for this season, except the Pee Wee girls to complete a couple of games. September is just around the corner then canvassers will be calling at every house in the village for the Arthritis Society. Please give generously when they come to your door. Several people from this area attended the engagement party for Ruthie Thamer and John Uyl on Saturday, August 25 at the Blyth Community Centre. Linda Brock won the door prize.
