Enumeration starts Thurs. for election Four bus drivers for Grey Central School were honored by the Huron County Board of Education during the recent graduation ceremonies. They are (from left): Murray Hooverand Doug Evans, both honored for 25 years’ service; Stewart Steiss, 16 years’ service. Starting this Thursday, enumer ators will be out in full force across Ontario registering voters for the Sept. 6 provincial election. Enumerators will visit Ontario homes from Aug. 9 to 15, four consecutive days. If enumerators miss you the first time, they will return once before Aug. 15. If you are missed a second time, they will leave a “305” form at your home, which you may drop off at the chief returning officer’s office at Clinton before 8 p.m. on Sept. 5 or call 482-3202. Rural voters who missed being enumerated may have someone who is listed on the same polling station voter’s list vouch for them. To be enumerated you must be 18 years of age or older on election day, a Canadian citizen and a resident of Ontario fdr six months prior to the election. Eligible voters will receive form “301”, which both enumerators sign. This is proof of enumeration and should be brought to the polls. Proxy voting forms are available at the chief returning officer’s office for those unable to vote in the election or at an advance poll. Those eligible for proxy voting include: members of Canada’s Armed Forces; people whose em ployment or business commitments require long-distance travel; those who cannot vote for medical rea sons and students registered in colleges or universities.
