For only five dollars, the young people cleaned exterior and interior of the vehicles and even the hot, muggy weather couldn’t deter their enthusiasm. Brussels lady returns from European tour Mrs. Winona Martin and daugh­ ter Mrs. Gwendolyne Tooth of Toronto returned from a 23-day tour of Europe. It rained the first few days but in Spain it was 105 degrees. The food was generally good, and the hotels were excellent. The Italian driver and hostess from Florence were very good. Places of interest were London, Paris, Versailles, Brussels, Am­ sterdam, Vollendam, Cologne, the Rhine River cruise passed Loreli Rack, Heidelberg, the Black Forest and Rhine Falls. They travelled to Lucerne, Leich- tenstein, Arlberg Innslruck and took the Brenner Pass to Verona Italy. Visits were made in Venice, Tuscan Hills to Sienna, Rome, Florence, Pisa, Genoa into France again at Nice, Monaco and Monte Carlo, Cannes, Avigon, into Spain at Barcelona and Madrid and Lisbon in Portugal. It was an excellent tour full of beautiful scenery and famous buildings. Food was very expensive and in capital cities you pay for your dinners, and all lunches you pay for. There were 15 extra tours, some with dinners if you wished to take them, but Winona noted they had greatly increased in price since last year. There were 48 people on the tour. NOTICE The Brussels License Office will be closed from August 20-September 4 for holidays. Joan Bernard Brussels Della Wilson of Brantford and Violet Kreutzweiser of Waterloo spent three days last week with their brother, Walter Schlueter and Marg Lindner. Another brother, Clayton of Milverton enjojed an afternoon visit with all of them. Ken and Jean Lindner of Kitch­ ener visited on Sunday with his mother, Marg Lindner and Walter Schlueter and also with Lawrence and Mildred Jacklin. Dean and Diane Rutledge of Walkerton spent the weekend with Brian and Marlene Rutledge and visited with other relatives. A large number of local residents attended the wedding of Tara Parker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Parker and Murray Pipe, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Pipe on Saturday, July 21 at Melville Presbyterian Church. Rev. Bonnie Cole Arnal perform­ ed the service. Rose Marks was the Maid of Honour and the attendants were Susan Wilhelm, Carol Ten Pas, Lisa Parker, Melinda Hamil­ ton, Lara Parker, Ruth Watts and Lori Parker. Kevin Kellington was best man and the ushers were Tim Fritz, Gary Pipe, Doug Shaw, Verne Bridge, Neil Pipe, Dan Williams and Paul Thompson. Kendall Jutzi was the flower girl and Cody Nichol the ring bearer. Mrs. Joanne King was the organist and the soloists were Linda and Judy Ten Pas. As it was a lovely day, following the service, the guests gathered on the lawn at the Pipe family farm for refreshments. The evening recep­ tion was held at the Brussels, Morris and Grey Community Cen­ tre. Mr. Wayne Lowe acted as Master of Ceremonies. There were some special guests present - grandparents from both sides of the family - Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Smith, Listowel, Mr. Tom Parkes, Cambridge, and*Mrs. Pearl Shaw and Mrs. Freda Pipe of Brussels. The bride’s bouquet was a replica of her maternal grand­ mother’s. Out-of-town guests were present from Atwood, Listowel, Kincar­ dine, Cambridge, Cobourg, Brant- There were some special guests present - grandparents from both sides of the family - Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Smith, Listowel; Mr. Tom Parks, Cambridge; and Mrs. Pearl Shaw and Mrs. Freda Pipe of Brussels. The Raymond Reunion was held on Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Bray of Wingham. Among the 53 people attending were: Dick and Ida Davidson, of Regina, Sask; Thelma and Peter Roberts from Ottawa; Betty Gow- ing of Brussels; Jack and Ester McCutcheon of Brussels; Jim and Pat Davis of Lucan; Cheryl and Jim Cook of Meaford; Neil and Susan Gowing and family of Brussels; Keith, Loree Raymond and family; Nancy and Bruce Corrigan of Bluevale; Bruce and Gwen Ray­ mond of Brussels; Mike and Lori Malhiot and family of Belgrave; Ken and Nancy Gowing and family of Brampton; Barbara Grube of Atwood; Mrs. Bruce Blake and family of Brussels; Don and Jill Shouldice of Brussels; Charles Bray and girls of Mildmay; Paul and Jacquie Gowing of Bluevale and Rosemary Wheeler of Blue­ vale.
