Aaron Cardiff (left) and Gary Martin, washed off the grime and polished ’till it shined at the car wash
sponsored by the Brussels Mennonite Fellowship on Saturday. For only five dollars, the young
people cleaned exterior and interior of the vehicles and even the hot, muggy weather couldn’t deter
their enthusiasm.
Brussels lady returns
from European tour
Mrs. Winona Martin and daugh
ter Mrs. Gwendolyne Tooth of
Toronto returned from a 23-day
tour of Europe.
It rained the first few days but in
Spain it was 105 degrees. The food
was generally good, and the hotels
were excellent. The Italian driver
and hostess from Florence were
very good.
Places of interest were London,
Paris, Versailles, Brussels, Am
sterdam, Vollendam, Cologne, the
Rhine River cruise passed Loreli
Rack, Heidelberg, the Black Forest
and Rhine Falls.
They travelled to Lucerne, Leich-
tenstein, Arlberg Innslruck and
took the Brenner Pass to Verona
Italy.
Visits were made in Venice,
Tuscan Hills to Sienna, Rome,
Florence, Pisa, Genoa into France
again at Nice, Monaco and Monte
Carlo, Cannes, Avigon, into Spain
at Barcelona and Madrid and
Lisbon in Portugal.
It was an excellent tour full of
beautiful scenery and famous
buildings. Food was very expensive
and in capital cities you pay for
your dinners, and all lunches you
pay for.
There were 15 extra tours, some
with dinners if you wished to take
them, but Winona noted they had
greatly increased in price since last
year.
There were 48 people on the
tour.
