This is the first year for the league in Brussels. Brussels Atom soccer loses to 3 rivals WE’RE NOT HOLDING On June 26 Brussels Atom soccer team travelled to play the first place Wallace team and were defeated 7-0. On July 10 Brussels was on the road again and this time were defeated 5-0 by a strong Listowel team. Brussels Minis win 2, lose 1 On June 27 Brussels defeated Newton 4-1 in Minis soccer as Nolan Krotz scored all four goals for Brussels. On July 4 Brussels travelled to Elma and were defeated 2-0 by Elma I. Belgrave Mites turn on power to beat Wingham Belgrave Mites put on a power display July 17 as Jeremy Camp­ ox bell hit three home runs and Jamie • ‘ McCallum two, to lead their team to a 17-5 win over Wingham. The two sluggers also shared the pitching and allowed Wingham to score in only three of the six innings. Belgrave pretty well put the game away in the first inning as they scored six runs before the homeside had a chance to bat. Led by one home run from each of the sluggers Belgrave also scored runs by Justin Campbell, Robbie Mc­ Gee, Ryan Cook and Justin Howatt. In the second inning Jeremy Campbell socked another homer as his team scored four more. Jamie McCallum, Robbie McGee and Jason Howatt also scored. Wingham was down 10-0 before it finally scored two runs in the bottom of the second and two more in the bottom of the third. Belgrave was held scoreless in the third but added four more in the top of the fourth led by a Jamie McCallum home run. Also scoring were Robbie McGee, Jeremy .Campbell On July 17 Brussels hosted Elma at Ethel. Brussels was down 3-0 which Trevor Wilson scored on a breakaway. That was all the of­ fence Brussels could muster as Elma scored once more to make the final 4-1. On July 11, Brussels travelled to Wallace and defeated the Wallace 2 team by a 10-1 score. Lee Dilworth led the way with five goal. Scot McDonald scored three times with singles going to Tyler Campbell and Nolan Krotz. and Craig Marks. In the fifth Belgrave was held scoreless and Wingham scored their final run of the game but Belgrave added three more runs in the sixth. Jeremy Campbell scored his third homer of the game. Also scoring were Jamie McCallum and Justin Campbell. Belgrave Mites beat Listoivel Belgrave Mites scored early and often July 6 when they visited Listowel. then held off a late Listowel charge to win the game 19-15. Jeremy Campbell and Robbie McGee hit home runs in a five-run fifth inning to seal the victory for Belgrave. Belgrave took the lead in the first inning on runs by Robbie McGee and Jeremy Campbell. After Lis­ towel got one run back Jamie McCallum, Tom Pfeiffer and Marc Alexander scored in the second.
