The young people are graduates of F. E. Madill in Wingham, Seaforth High School Auburn Compiled by Mrs. Mildred Lawlor. Phone 526-7589 Suicide, topic of sermon Rev. Paul Ross conducted the morning service at Knox United Church and Nancy Park was organ­ ist. The flowers in the sanctuary were in memory of the late Belle Allin. Rev. Ross gave the Call to Worship followed by hymn “We Praise Thee, 0 God’’. Rev. Ross gave the Prayer of Approach and Confession. The hymn “All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name’’ was sung and scriptures were read. Elliott Lapp sang a solo and the prayer chorus “Whisper a Prayer in the Morning’’ was sung. The hymn “It is No Secret’’ was sung. The minister’s sermon was en­ titled “Calling It Quits: Suicide and the Terminally Ill”. The offering was received by Don Haines and Larry Plaetzer and dedicated. Rev. Ross gave the Prayer of Thanksgiv­ ing and Concern and the Lord’s Prayer was repeated in unison. The hymn “Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah” was sung. Rev. Ross pronounced the Benediction and response ended the service. The Auburn United Church Sun­ day School has planned a Fun Day for August 8 at 8:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sports, crafts fellowship and singing will be enjoyed by all children between four and 12 years old. Tracey Fischer, 18, daughter of Don Fischer, RR 3, Brussels, is a graduate of Seaforth High School. Tracey has acquired an entrance DIANNE HALL scholarship to King’s College, an affiliate of Western University in London, and hopes to attend teach­ er’s college in the future. Dianne Hall is a graduate of F. E. Madill Secondary School and is continuing her education in the Honours Psychology program at Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo. Dianne is the daughter of Jack and Jane Hall of Brussels. F. E. Madill student Craig Jefferson, 19, will be studying accounting in the fall at Waterloo University. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jefferson of RR 2, Lucknow. Gerald Knight, of RR 3, Brus­ sels, attended Listowel District Secondary School and is enrolled in Honours Economics at Wilfred Lottery profits help hospitals. On the night of the car accident. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Morton of Belgrave. Corinna Stephenson, 19, is the daughter of Frank and Sharon of Brussels and a graduate of F. E. Madill.
