There was an incredible journey this past week in Morris Township involving a pair of white domestic geese owned by Ross Procter of RR 5, Brussels. The characters are Lee Ping, the gander and Matilda Two, his recently acquired wife who came with a brood of goslings. The family was placed in the Bodmin beaver pond early last week only to disappear. Several days later Lee Ping (who would much rather reside in the Procter’s back yard) turned up at Garnet Nicholson’s farm and stayed overnight to rest. Subsequently, Matilda Two and her seven goslings arrived at the home of Leo Sanders. Matilda and her very young goslings had walk ed a distance of 3.8 miles. How did Lee Ping know he would be welcomed at the Nicholson’s and Matilda know that the Sanders, who raise exotic birds, would be a safe haven for her brood?
