WEDNESDAY: Hank says it tires
him out just thinking about it but
he’s got to tip his hat to the 81 year
old Baptist minister from California
who wants to divorce his 27th wife
so he can marry his 28th. “Maybe
it keeps him in shape,” Hank said.
“Probably,” Julia said, “he
finds them too smart for him when
they finally grown up.” She noted
the wife he wants to divorce is only

immense tolerance of Canadians.
Canadians will seldom if ever, turn
to the kind of drastic action the
people of Westwold, B.C. took
recently when they seized the car of
a Canada Post official who came to
close down their post office. Most
have an amazing ability to absorb
our frustrations and not strike out.
But the frustrations remain and
that’s why I think so many people

Sherry, Amanda and Alicia of RR

noon Monday, July 9, at their
grandmother Mrs. Elizabeth Proc
ter, Belgrave.
On Wednesday, July 11, Mrs.
Larry Mayberry of Londesboro
visited with her mother Mrs.
Elizabeth Procter, Belgrave.
Mr. and Mrs. Gamer Nicholson
visited last week with Mr. and Mrs.
Ron Nicholson at their cottage at
Lions Head.
Mrs. Garner Nicholson visited
recently with her daughter and
son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Glyn
Wide and family of Hamilton. They
also visited with Mrs. Myra Weber
(Glyn’s grandmother) from South
Wales.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom May and Sara
of Mississauga spent the weekend
with her mother Mrs. Sara Ander

19 and he wants to bring her 15
year old sister from the Philippines
so he can marry her.
Well, said Tim, the guy may be a
bit wasteful with wives but at least
he believes in recycling. He’s
married three of them twice each.
He also keeps two wedding dresses
in his closet in different sizes so
there will always be one handy.
“When you might be only
married for 63 days why invest too
much in a wedding,” Julia said.
I've talked to lately, people who
abhor violence, were cheering for
the Mohawks at Oka who took up
arms to keep developers from
cutting down a forest they con
sidered their land, just to build a
golf course. After 200 years of
frustration the Canadian natives
are saying “enough is enough”. I
wonder if it will take 200 years for
the rest of us to get that frustrated
by the manipulation and double
talk.
