The Burns U.C.W. met on Wednesday afternoon, July 3 in Londesboro United Church with 14 members and one guest present. Clara Riley opened with hymn 399 accompanied by Ida Lieper on the piano. Clara led in prayer. Jean Fox gave a reading “God’s Pro­ mise”. The topic, “Faith” was presented by Clara Riley. Hymn 256 was sung. Due to the absence of Renee Snell, Clara Riley took over the business part. Roll call was answered with a bible verse and minutes of last meetings Church news Greeters at Londesboro United Church on Sunday, July 8 were John and Jane Hoggart. Ushers were Joanne Wilts, Mandy Medd, Sharon and Karen Bergsma. The sermon topic was “Reversed Expectations”. Next Sunday, July 15 the topic will be “Sunday Shopping”. I' CLASSIFIED ADS p. PAYOFF! 1 were read. A letter was read from Clinton Hospital Funding Co-or­ dinator. It was decided to donate $200 towards the purchase of a new x-ray machine for the Clinton Hospital. Guest Rev. Paul Ross, the new minister, spoke a few word to the ladies. The date Oct. 17 was set for the bazaar and tea. Rev. Ed Eckmier’s team from Mitchell came first with three wins and 45. Elmer Murray from Clinton was second with three wins and 42. Third with two wins was Jack Fischer, Lucknow. Fourth was Jack McDonald, Lucknow; fifth, Don Haines, Clin­ ton; sixth, Bill Hewitt, Atwood; seventh, Walter Westbrook, Mit­ chell; eighth, Les Douglas, Brus­ sels.
