It upsets me greatly to walk into stores and see all the restricted movies are out in plain view for the eye level of a three year old. Why? Restricted magazines are at least put up on the higher shelves. Children’s books, toys, clothing, etc. are always separate from adults, so why shouldn’t restricted movies be? I would like businesses to separ ate their restricted material and put it in an area separate from the rest, so when a couple of 10 year old girls are looking for a movie they don’t have to be exposed to restricted material meant for adults and there will not be any chance of this material accidentally rented to children under 18 which has been and is happening. Please do not say pornography has no effect on your children. People would not think of putting their eight year old child behind the wheel of a car or shoving a beer into the hand of a 10 year old but place their child in front of the TV and anything goes. Pornography does affect our children! Remem ber, pornography helped shape the mind of Ted Bundy. Pornography is a multi-billion dollar industry and I suppose if you are 18 years old and you choose to support this exploitation of women that is your right but for goodness sakes protect our children from this material until they are old enough to put it in some kind of perspec tive. I may be considered the weaker sex but I am strong enough to admit we are partially to blame for the tragedies happening in our society. We must realize the impact of pornography on the survival of the human race. BRENDA J. BURKHOLDER BLYTH (7 ANNOUNCEMENT CAROLYN J. WOOD, B.A., D.C.
