Obituaries HARRY GOLL Harry Goll of Brussels passed away Tuesday, June 19, 1990 at Wingham and District Hospital. He was in his 78th year. He was born June 16, 1913, the son of the late Conrad Goll and Minnie Kilty. He is survived by his wife, the former Lila McCrackin and two daughters, Lois and her husband Mel McCarter and Marilyn and her husband Jack Higgins, both of Brussels. Five grandchildren, Doug McArter and his wife Rhonda, Kevin and Brian McArter and Ken Higgins, all of Brussels and Debbie Oliver of Cargill as well as two great-grand­ children, David and Nicole Oliver survive. He was predeceased by one son, Harold Goll in 1937; five sisters, Margaret Jacklin, Marion Ohm, Dorothy Knipe, Viola Townsend, Florence Henry and one brother Bill Goll in World War I. He is survived by two brothers Clarence Goll, RR 4, Wingham and Fred Goll, Guelph. The funeral service took place June 20, 1990 from the Brussels chapel of the Betts Funeral Home. Rev. Cam McMillan officiated. Interment was in Brussels Ceme­ tery. Serving as pallbearers were Ken Higgins, Kevin McArter, Brian McArter, Bruce Henry and Ross Goll. Flower bearers were Debbie Oliver, Doug McArter, Rhonda McArter and Carol Ten Pas. As a memorial donations may be given to the Brussels United Church building fund or the Alz- heimers Society. JOHN SIMPSON John Simpson of Listowel and formerly of Brussels passed away June 23, 1990 in Listowel Memorial Hospital. He was born 79 years ago in Peterculter, Scotland. He married the former Roberta I. Craig who survives him. Also surviving is a daughter, Joan, Mrs. Donald Deit- ner, RR 1, Ethel and a sister, Emma, Mrs. William Smith, Aber­ deen, Scotland. He will be sadly missed by three grandchildren: Anthony, Francis and Madelaine Deitner. He was predeceased by one brother. He was a member of Brussels United Church. Blyth UCW group learns about epilepsy The funeral service took place from the Tasker Chapel of the Beattie-Falconer Funeral Home in Blyth on June 25, 1990 with Rev. C. Since members have been asked to serve as companions to disabled children in area group homes, the ladies used this as their theme using the scripture verse “Let not your heart be troubled”. They shared with their audience the story of Adam - a severely handicapped young man. President June Peck welcomed everyone. Ruby Pattison introduc­ ed guest Marj Fear from Epilepsy Ontario, Huron-Perth Chapter. Marj showed a film describing the three most common types of epilepsy seizures. An interesting discussion followed. In the business session, it was mentioned that the family that the U.C.W. is sponsoring from Laos has arrived in Goderich. Members are asked to help.
