Phone 523-4360 UCW meetings to resume in fall t The meeting opened with the U.C.W. Purpose. Worship service was led by Helen Lee and Gladys Otten. The Bible reading was Genesis 28, 10-23, another reading was from the Observer. Genevieve Allen played the piano. “In Christ there is no East or West’’ and “Jesus the very thought of Thee’’ was sung. Thank you’s were read from the Duizer family, Bob and Audrey Thompson for anniversary party and John Snell. Audrey Thompson moved and it was seconded by Helen Lee that Cheerio Club meets The June meeting of the Cheerio Club was held on Wednesday afternoon, June 20 at the home of Mary Longman. Clara Riley gave a reading “The New Baby”. Vietta Hoggart read about the “Good Old Days” and the ‘‘Horse and Buggy”. Minutes of the May meeting was read and approved. Roll call was answered by eight members and three visitors. Collection and draw money was taken up. The draw donated by Beth Knox was won by Clara Riley. Group 2 will have the July meeting. Aledia Westerhout joined the group. Clara read a poem about “Betty at the ball game”. Cards were played. Lunch was served by Mary Longman, Clara Riley and Vietta Hoggart. Service at Ball’s Sunday Rev. Paul Ross is to have service on Sunday, July 1 at 11:15 a.m. The Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. at Ball’s Cemetery on July 1. The Sunday School meeting is 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 26 at Harriett Shillinglaw’s. Man celebrates 90th m. birthday party was held at Londesboro Church on Saturday, June 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. The guest of honour was Mr. Wallace (Jake) McDougall who celebrated his 90th birthday. Best wishes for many more from the communitv. Happy Gang plans Bayfield trip Happy Gang Seniors take note: Members are to meet at Londes­ boro Hall at 2:15 p.m. on Wednes­ day, June 27 to go to Bayfield to see Dejong’s windmill followed by a brown bag lunch. The service opened with the hymn, “Praise Him, Praise Him’’. Rev. Dave Snihur led in prayer. “To God be the Glory’’ was sung. Rev. Snihur spoke about reading the Bible and praying every day. The offering was taken up while Gail played “It is no Secret’’. The finaly hymn “Reach Reach out to Others” was sung. This was Dave’s last service before he moves to his new charge in Woodstock.
