The Citizen, 1990-06-06, Page 21The Bear Facts REGIONAL TRACK AND FIELD by Melissa Kerr and Sarah Rouw On Wednesday, May 30, the winners of our track and field day travelled to Seaforth for the Regional track and field meet. The division winners of Blyth’s track and field meet are as follows: Midget, Kim Lee, Mark Wilson; Junior, Sandra Walsh and Kurt Lentz; Intermediate, Marie Cronyn and Mike Johnston; Senior, Jenni­ fer Stadelmann and Mike Bromley. All of those who participated did a good job and we know it all paid off in the end (sore muscles, etc.) Thanks to Mr. Livermore, Mr. Sygrove, Miss Morgan and Bob McClinchey for accompanying us. FUN, FUN, FUN by Kristy Caldwell and Kathy Fraser On Wednesday, May 30, Kinder­ garten, grade one and two student sparticipated in Play Day. The leaders were the students from grade six, seven and eight who did not attend field day in Seaforth. There were 12 different groups with one or two different leaders. The stations were: sack race, led by Chris Fidom and David Jantzi; obstacle course, led by Joe Fraser and John Brak; two dogs and a bone, led by Jason Clark and John Walden; Rolley Polley led by Jill Jenkins and Carrie Ansley; bean bag toss, led by Jody Button and Erica Clark; jug and ball, led by Chris Lee and Jeff Josling. Teams were numbered 1 to 12. Each team got a ribbon for partici­ pating in the events. Michelle McNichol liked the bean bag toss. She had lots of fun. Nathan Shannon liked the obstacle course best. Bryce Toll liked the two dogs and a bone. On behalf of the students we would like to thank all the teachers, especially Mrs. Battye for organizing this year’s Play Day.
