Phone 526-7589 Children sing of Christ's love at Knox communion service Rev. Dave Snihur conducted the morning service of Communion and Nancy Park was organist. The Call to Worship was read alternately followed by hymn “Rejoice The Lord is King”. Rev. Snihur gave the Prayer of Approach and the Lord’s Prayer was repeated in unison. The an­ them “Pass It On” was sung by Susan Dobie, Donna Lynn Arm­ strong, Marcie Stoll and Shannon Millian. The children’s song was “The Lord Loves Me” followed by their story by Rev. Snihur. A presentation was given by Mrs. Maryin Verbeek to Mrs. Dana 4H group takes nature trek BY SHELLEY DOBIE Auburn’s first meeting of the conservation project was held at the Auburn library on Thursday, May 17. The meeting was opened with the 4H pledge. It was followed with the voting for the executive office. The president is Sheila Rodgers; vice president is Molly Sykes; secretary, Cheryl Lapp and the press reporter, Shelley Dobie. Six members attended this meeting. The next meeting will be held on May 23. NATURE HIKE AT MAITLAND BLOCK Auburn’s second meeting of the 4H Conservation project was held on May 23. At this meeting the member worked on their books, then they went to Maitland Block and had a scavenger hunt. The name for the club is “The Auburn Conservation Cats” which was fhe idea of Shelley Dobie. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 30. People Mrs. Beth Lansing spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Lome Peter of Kincardine. Audrey Guindon of Hull, Quebec spent Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Lawlor. ‘Nature Nuts’ elect officers On May 9, the Londesboro II 4H Club held its first meeting. Mem­ bers decided that “Nature Nuts” was going to be the club name. They also selected the officers. Karla Stacey is president; Kent Shillinglaw, vice-president; Becky Wilkinson, secretary; and Willena Ramaker, press reporter. Other members are Jim and Marilyn VanderElzen, Andrea Ramaker, Brenda Renkema, Darrell Bergs- ma, Martha Huizinga and Darryl Mayberry, Marilyn and Jim were absent. The leader is Thelma Dougherty. On May 19, the Londesboro II Nature Nuts met at Dougherty’s and went down to the river for a walk. They saw a racoon sleeping in a tree, two beavers and their home, many wild flowers (they tasted the edible ones), and birds. Only six members were present. On May 26 they went to East Wawanosh conservation area. They learned how to use a compass. Then they got into groups and had to find certain green stakes with red cans on top. This took about an hour. We had a lot of fun. Bean for her work and leadership in the United Church Women. She was presented with a Life Member­ ship Pin, followed by prayer. The offering was received by Larry Plaetzer and Ken Ramsey and dedicated. Rev. Snihur’s sermon was en­ titled “As We Forgive Those Who Sin Against Us”. The communion hymn “All to Jesus I surrender” was sung and the sharing of the bread and wine was observed followed by prayer. The hymn “Anywhere With Jesus” was sung. Rev. Snihur pronounced the Benediction and response “Now Thank We All Our God” ended the service. Bible Study will be at the home of Gail Dobie on Friday, June 1 at 1:30 p.m. Next Sunday the congre­ gation will be sharing in the promotion of Sunday School child­ ren.
