This year our theme is Singing the Decades. Each class has chosen a decade and is putting on a short skit and singing a couple of songs that were hits from that decade. Both of the musical instrument bands will be performing, Grade 6/7 at the very beginning of the program, and Grade 8 topping off the night. There are also individual performances, such as Rebecca Dauphin and Laura Douma with saxophones, Jacquie Seili singing “Right Here Waiting’’ with Stephanie Henry accompanying her on the piano, and Kerri Foxton and Angie Yoon doing a duet on the trumpets. SPRING INTO SPRING by Jeff Kitchen and Danny Hall Monday, April 9 was the beginn ing of our Skills For Adolescents Project. We called it “Spring into Spring’’. On Monday we had a euchre party with the senior citizens as our guests. Two successful players were Jason Engel and Effie Mc Call. Tuesday brought excitement too, as Brussels students showed off their talents with air bands, dances, piano duets, baton twirling «cnd stand-up comedy and such ■*- ars as New Kids on the Block, Maestro Fresh Wes and Young MC which was a real hit to the kids. If you didn’t see the talent show it’s on television on Monday, April 17 on Channel 17. So be there! On Wednesday in the afternoon we had a skip-a-thon, to raise money for the “Jump Rope for Heart Foundation’’. It was incle ment weather so we had to have it inside. Groups were in classrooms and the gym. They were also in lobbies and the library. There were so many groups that there were two or three groups in the hall. Because it ran for two hours many people were tired and sweaty. On Thursday we had a Blah Buster day. There were such activities as throwing a ball against the wall, floor hockey, skateboard ing, a beanbag toss, a hero jump, a balloon stomp, and many more. It started out at about 9:30 and we stopped for pizza at about 11:45. There were four kinds of pizza to choose from. Then at about 12:40 we went back to our activities.
