Anne is currently working at Stratford General Hospital. 4-H club meets BY BRIAN MACHAN On Monday, April 2, the Londes- borough I, 4H club held its fourth meeting for the “Putting Your Best forward’’ club on etiquette. They pened the meeting by standing and saying the 4H pledge. After that guest speaker Constable John Marshall spoke to members on drugs and alcohol and showed two videos. Ethel People Beth and Gary Earl and family entertained family members Easter Sunday. Those attending were Georgina Smith, Atwood; Gail Smith and family; Dale and Trisha Smith and family; Tony Smith, Juanita Smith and her friend Brian Bailey of the Monkton area. Joan, John, Larry and Nancy Smith, Sarah Hamilton, Robert, Susan and Aleisha Farrish visited with Bob and Georgie Williamson at Newmarket over Easter. Bob and Isabelle Bremner had visitors, Brenda and Fred Phillips and Julie from Lucknow, Kathryn Nesbitt, Lee, Ray and Jessica of Southwold; Mary, Karl, Kevin and Karla Raszmann from RR 3, Monk­ ton, Andrew and Doris Bremner of Ethel and Andrew and Della Mc­ Michael of Listowel on Easter Sunday. Doris and Archie Jacklin will be celebrating their 45th anniversary on Wednesday, April 18. If you happen to see them, wish them well. 11 tables at Ethel euchre Eleven tables of euchre were in play Monday evening, April 9 at the Ethel Hall hosted by Dorothy Dilworth, Helen Dobson and Mar­ garet McMahon. PAGE 21. Patricia Keffer heads Ethel WI Jean Fraser opened the annual meeting of the Ethel W.I. with a poem, “The World is Mine’’. It was decided to once again pay a membership to the Huron County Historical Society and to also attend a play at the Blyth Festival. Delegates to the 88th District Annual at Fordwich on May 8 will be Doris Jacklin, Thelma Keffer and Helen Dobson. Three ladies also offered articles for the Sales Table. The Ethel 4H clubs are hosting an achievement night April 23 at 7:30 at Grey Central School and invited the W.I. members to at­ tend. In the absence of the program co-ordinator Mrs. Barbara Grube, her report was read by the secre­ tary. Eleven members renewed their dues for the upcoming year and at that time Mrs. Marjorie Hum­ phries, Past Guelph area secretary, installed the new officers for 1990- 91. They are: Past President, Jean Fraser; President, Patricia Keffer; first Vice President, Joan Smith; Secretary Treasurer, Margaret Mc­ Mahon; Assistant Secretary Trea­ surer, Doreen Suter; P.R.O., Lou Raynard; District Director, Doris Jacklin; Assistant District Director, Iola Subject; high lady score, Violet Smith; high man, Verna Crawford (playing as a man); low lady, Anne MacMurchy; low man, Adrian Ver- stoep; birthday’s Keith Turnbull and Irma Brighton; lucky tally, Alice Stevens. The last euchre this season will be held April 23 hosted by the Ethel W.I. members. Mrs. Humphries was thanked by incoming president, Patricia Keffer who presented her with a gift of appreciation. Marjorie in turn thanked the ladies for her Easter lily as she loves flowers. Girls injured in Morris crash A single vehicle accident occurr­ ed in Morris Township during the evening of April 12. Heather McKercher, 17, of RR 1, Dublin was, according to OPP, southbound on sideroad 5-6 of Morris at a speed of 70 kilometres an hour when she looked to adjust her radio and crossed the roadway to the east shoulder. Kercher then turned the vehicle, crossing the road again, then entered the west ditch where the vehicle then rolled over. Miss McKercher sustained only minimal injuries while a passenger in the car, Michelle Beuerman, 15, of RR 1, Blyth received minor injuries. OPP stated that both girls were taken to Clinton Public Hospi­ tal by private auto.
