‘Kingship of Jesus’, sermon topic
Another new business opened its
doors last week as Bell’s Discount
Centre and Variety Store in the
former Blyth Supermarket building
located at the north end of down
town, held its Grand Opening,
Thursday.
Owner John Bell of Seaforth and
his wife Cheryl own two similar
stores in Lucknow and New Ham
burg which he says provide an
alternative to going out of town for
odds and ends you need. “We do
have space limitation here but we
try to carry as much merchandise
as we can,” said Mr. Bell.
He adds that the store is not a
grocery store but a variety discount
store. Besides carrying some food
products Bell’s offers a selection of
children’s, ladies’ and men’s cloth
ing, housewares, stationery, health
and beauty aids, and video rentals.
Greeting cards are featured at 40
per cent off all the time, according
to Mr. Bell, and in addition to the
regular discounted price on most
merchandise the store will periodi
cally feature in house specials as
well like this week’s half price
Easter candy sale.
Mr. Bell feels that the store has
been well-received thus far and he
has been very pleased with the
response.
Bell’s is open every day from

Sunday School. Children will come
with their parents to church. The
topic of the sermon was “The
Kingship of Jesus”. In order to
have Jesus as King in our lives
Rev. Ramirez said that we need to
be loyal, obedient, and to pledge
our allegiance to Him. God needs
our time, our strength and our
minds. The questions asked were
“What kind of priority does Jesus
have in our lives? and “Is He really
King or do we keep track of how
much we give, expecting some
thing in return?. We should ponder
the quotation “If Jesus is not Lord
of all then He is not Lord at all.”
Communion service followed the
sermon. Fred Meier and Lloyd
Walden prepared the communion
table. Passing the communion
plates were elders Fred deBoer,
Bea Chambers, Melda McElroy,
Bill Burkholder, Jack Blake and
Bonnie Shannon.
