A popular event, those attending enjoyed a hearty meal of pancakes, sausage, eggs, bacon and home-brewed coffee. 10th annual Songfest a success A capacity crowd attended the 10th annual Songfest on Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. in Londesboro Church. Rev. Snihur was master of ceremonies. Pianist was Gail Lear and organist, Sara Lyons. Those taking part were Walton United Church Junior choir, The Bosman Trio, The Van Der Heides, Peter-Suffering for Him’ topic of Sunday sermon Greeters at Londesboro United Church on Sunday, April 1 were Lome and Addie Hunking. Ushers were Pat Hoggart, Cheryl Hoggart, Jennifer Szusz and Lindsey Salver- da. This was Hymn-sing Sunday, the sermon topic was “Peter - Trials into Triumph, The letter of Hope (Part 5): Suffering For Him’’. Junior Youth Group meets on Friday, April 6 at 7 p.m. at Clinton Crown Lanes in Clinton for bowling. Cost is $3.50. Londesboro Church Board meeting is on Mon- 4H pets learn obedience BY KARLA STACEY On Friday, March 23 Pets “R” Us 4H club members met for their third meeting. They met at Shill­ inglaw’s place. After everyone said the pledge, members did their bookwork and got brochures on pets. Later they had a snack and watched Kent Granbrook Mrs. Catherine Thiel and her son Doug and Mrs. Thiel, Kitchener and Waterloo, visited Jack and Mrs. Conley recently. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Fretz and son Bill, Kitchener visited Allan and Lynn Fretz on the weekend. The euchre on March 30 was sponsored by the Hall Board. Eleven tables were played with winners as follows: high, Frieda The Harmony King Quartette, The Music Makin’ Moms and the Scott Family. The hymns “Faith of our Fathers’’ and “Blest be the Tie’’ were sung. Lunch was served after the music. A very special thanks goes to Mr. Elgin Penfound for his work each year to make each Songfest a special night to remem­ ber. day, April 9 at 8 p.m. Bible Study and Prayer Group meets on Friday, April 6 at 1:30 p.m. at the Beans in Auburn. Next Sunday, April 8 will be Confirmation and Communion day. The Cancer Society Daffodil Tea is at St. Joseph’s Church in Clinton on Friday, April 6 at 2 - 4 p.m. Last euchre The last W.I. Euchre will be held on Friday evening,' April 6 at 8 o’clock at the Hall. Lunch will be provided. Shillinglaw’s dog Misty do obedi­ ence exercises. Misty wasn’t very active because she was recovering from an injury. Karla Stacey also brought her dog, so the members got to try training her. She wasn’t very good because she was ram­ bunctious. A lovely pot luck dinner was held with birthday cake served. Everyone wore something green for St. Patrick’s Day. Members opened the meeting with O Canada. Clara Riley read a poem about “Seniors’ Blessings”. Margaret Good read the minutes of the February meeting. Roll call was taken up. A thank you card was read from Vietta Hoggart. Jose­ phine MacGregor thanked the Seniors for a Gordon and Stewart. The Spring Community Centre No shuffleboard There will be no shuffleboard this week. The next shuffleboard is on Wednesday, April 11 at 8 p.m. at Hullett Central School. INVESTMENTS is at Zurich on Tuesday, Rally April 17. Registration is at 9:30 to 10 a.m. on April 18. The group will entertain Auburn Silver Tops to dinner at 12 o’clock. Bring first course and dessert. It was moved to give the Hall Board a donation for fuel for the hall. After the meeting six tables of euchre were played.
