Phone 526-7589 Quartet and children sing selections Rev. Dave Snihur conducted the morning service at Knox United Church and Nancy Park was organ­ ist. The flowers in the sanctuary were from the funeral of the late Warner Andrews. Call to Worship was read alternately, followed by the hymn “When Morning Guilds The Skies”. Rev. Snihur gave the Prayer of Approach and the Lord’s Prayer was said in unison. A quartette was sung “May the Lord hold you in the palm of your hand”. The children’s song was “The Lord Loves Me”, followed by the children’s story. The hymn “Wounded for Me” was sung. Scriptures were read and the prayer chorus “Have Thine Own Way Lord” was sung. Rev. Snihur’s sermon was en­ titled “Peter, Trials into Triumph, The Letter of Hope Part 5: Suffer­ ing For Him”. The offering was received by Larry Plaetzer and Bob Worsell and dedicated. The hymn “We’ve a Story to the Nations” was sung. Rev. Snihur pronounced the Bene­ diction and response sung and ended the service. Junior Youth Group meets Fri­ day, April 6 at 7 p.m. at the Crown Lanes in Clinton for bowling. Bible Study and Prayer Group will be held on Friday, April 6 at 1:30 at the Beans. Auburn raises $590 Heart and Stroke fundraising captain Eunice Arthur says thanks to the people of Auburn, who gave so generously to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, to the amount of $590. Canvassers Frances Clark, Grace Cartwright, Maureen Bean, Jane Giousher, Elsie McKechnie and Barbara Whetstone deserve special thanks, she says. WI dinner April 11 The annual Women’s Institute dinner and meeting had to be changed to Wednesday, April 11 at 12 noon. It will be held at the Blue Fountain Restaurant, Clinton.
