celebrate 50th
Beth Knox was one of the guests
on March 20 at the home of Isabel
and Garry Cox, RR 2, Goderich
when 18 relatives met to honour
Mary and John McCowan of Clin
ton on their 50th anniversary. An
enjoyable afternoon was held, re
miniscing over food and coffee.
There were three couples there
who had celebrated their 50th prior
to this year and one couple in their
59th year. Thanks was expressed to
the host and hostesses for the
lovely time on a sunny afternoon,
quite a contrast to March 20, 1940.
The bride and groom arrived at the
church that day by team and sleigh
in weather that now would be
called a white-out.
