Phone 523-4360 Maple mad When it comes to madness (Maple Madness that is) Hullett township council seems to be tops. For the second time in a row Hullett won the Maple Madness award at the Maple Keys Pancake Weekend festivities Sunday near Ethel. Members of the team are: (left to right) Joe Gibson, deputy-reeve; Ron Gross, councillor; Tom Cunningham, Reeve and Ian Hulley, grader operator. As of April 2,1990, Keith Moffatt Plumbing & Heating of Bluevale will nolonger be in opera­ tion. I feel it is time to pursue new endeavors. For the past 14 years it has been a pleasure for me to serve your plumbing & heating needs. We would like to express our sincere apprec­ iation and thanks to all our valued customers, and contractors, who have been so co-operative, loyal and patient through the years. Keith & Marg Moffatt celebrate 50th Beth Knox was one of the guests on March 20 at the home of Isabel and Garry Cox, RR 2, Goderich when 18 relatives met to honour Mary and John McCowan of Clin­ ton on their 50th anniversary. An enjoyable afternoon was held, re­ miniscing over food and coffee. There were three couples there who had celebrated their 50th prior to this year and one couple in their 59th year. Thanks was expressed to the host and hostesses for the lovely time on a sunny afternoon, quite a contrast to March 20, 1940. The bride and groom arrived at the church that day by team and sleigh in weather that now would be called a white-out. April 1 Greeters at Londesboro United Church on Sunday, March 25 were Elvis Vincent, Paul Jewitt, Dwight and Dean Caldwell. The flowers at the front of the church were from the funeral of the late Viva Mac­ Gregor. The sympathy of community is extended to family. The choir sang an anthem, sermon topic was: Trials Triumph, The Letter of Hope (Part 4). Preparing for the Best.” Bible Study and Prayer Group will be held on Friday, March 30 at 1:30 p.m. at the Snihurs. Songfest is Sunday, April 1 at 7:30 p.m. Senior Youth Group meets on Wednesday, March 28 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Vanastra for swimming and devotions. Good Friday Service will be at the Auburn Church April 13 at 7:30 p.m. results Shuffleboard was held at Hullett Central School on Wednesday evening, March 21 at 8 p.m. There were 16 present. High man was Lome Hunking and high lady, Geraldine Dale. Euchre results There were eight tables of euchre at the Women’s Institute Euchre at the Londesboro Hall on Friday evening, March 23. Ladies’ high was Lily Leather- ’ land, Auburn; ladies’ lone hands, Hazel Reid; ladies’ low, Marie Krauter; men’s high, Ted Fother­ gill; men’s lone hands, Glen Car­ ter; men’s low, Ted East. The last euchre of the season will be held on Friday, April 6.
