Hullett council calls for gravel tenders for twp. roads Hullett Township Council at its meeting March 6 advised Road Superintendent Jim Johnston to ask Hensall Co-op not to have gravel or concrete drawn on side­ road 20-21 north from the proposed laneway. A motion was passed that Hen­ sall Co-op be given permission to strip topsoil and put in gravel base for roadway and new construction. No construction is to take place until all conditions stated by coun­ cil are met. Council authorized Mr. Johnston to call tenders for 18,000 cubic yards of A gravel to be spread on township roads, in addition to 3,500 cubic yards stockpiled for construc­ tion of Auburn streets. Tenders are to be in by April 3 at 4 p.m. A motion was passed increasing the price of township owned gravel to 55 cents per cubic yard from 50 cents. Mr. Johnston and Doug Dolmage will attend the road school in May. The budget for Seaforth Com- munity Centre was approved for 1990 following which a Council agreed to support a resolution from Seaforth and District Management Committee to invoice municipali­ ties quarterly for their portion of the operation budget. Clerk Bev Shaddick was author­ ized to purchase a Toshiba 251 fax machine from Bluewater Office Equipment in Goderich for a price of $1,924.80. Mrs. Shaddick also received authorization to hire a surveyor for the unused portion of old road on sideroad 30-31 of concession 7-8. Accounts totalling $308,606.88 are to be paid. Jack and Jean Conley have sold their house to Brian and Linda Housser from Elmira. PHYSIOTHERAPY NEWS: Barbara Fotheringham, Tuckersmith township, a grade 12 student at Central Huron Secondary School is spending her co-op assignment with the PhysiotherapydepartmentatSeaforthCommunity Hospital. Barb’s time in this department is spent observing treatment, participating in ActivationGroup, planning departmental activities, among other things. These experiences are giving Barb insight into the physio aspects of nursing. She is planning a career in the nursing field. EUCHRE The Canadian Order of Foresters had 15 tables playing at their euchre on Friday, March 23 with the following winners: high, Marguerite Biernes, Ken MacDon- Ethel Community extends sympathy Sympathy is extended to Mrs. Barbara Marshall in the loss of her mother Mrs. Dorothy Smith at the York County Hospital on Wednes­ day, March 21, 1990. A memorial service was held at the M. W. Beckler Funeral Home, Keswick on March 24. The Ethel W.I. ladies had an extremely busy Sunday serving pancakes and sausage at the Maple Keys Sugar Bush Pancake Day. Several people attended the Buck and Doe held in Listowel Saturday evening for Ken Purvis and Denise Helmka. Thelma Keffer was treated to supper out on Sunday evening by friends, Bob and Muriel Hart to celebrate her birthday. Pat and Larry Keffer and family had Thel­ ma on Monday evening to help her celebrate her birthday as well. Brussels couple returns from Europe Joe and Debbie Seili have return­ ed home after a two-week holiday to Europe. They travelled to Hol­ land, Belgium, Luxembourg, and France with a group of stabling dealers across Ontario and Quebec. Paris, France and Brussels, Bel­ gium were two favourite cities along the way. Weather was two months ahead of us with daffodils and tulips out in full bloom in every county. ?
