The sheep on the Cardiff farm are given access to the outdoors all through the winter. Lambs and
mothers are kept indoors but those able to travel freely feed on the 1,500 pound bales in the barnyard.
Sheepdogs area necessary asset in keeping track of straysand
rounding up the flock, when it is fairly large, but this one was
almost a bit too overzealous.
The tail end
Claudia Campbell lops off the tail of every newborn lamb when
it is just a few days old. In addition each new baby is tagged to
make it easier to keep records and is given a shot of Silenium
Vitamin E to protect it against white muscle disease.

approaches if possible. Allan
Cardiff says the old method is
best as he uses a staff to separate
asheep from the rest of the flock.
