Bountiful bovine
John flashes a friendly smile as he gently massages this cow’s
udder tocheck if she is almost done milking. Holstein cattle are
the largest cows and produce the most milk of all dairy breeds.
Their distinctive black and white markings can be seen on many
area dairy farms. Eachcowonly takes about five minutes to milk
but with 70 cows, the milking usually takes over an hour.
