Rad­ ford’s started quickly on a pair of goals by Bryan Black early in the first period, then fell behind 3-2 in the second. Tony Van Bakel tied the score late in the second period. Barney Stewart and Wayne Mc­ Dougall scored in the third period to give the Overloads a 5-3 win. Ron Ritchie played well in the Overload net. THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 1990. A Guide and Pathfinder leader, Mrs. Ferguson has also been an active volunteer to scouting events as well as other groups such as figure skating. Eleven tables were in play when the weekly Monday night euchre party was held at Blyth Memorial Hall on Monday, Feb. 19. High scores for the evening went to Mary Shobbrook and Alvin Procter and low scores were by Ida Procter and Alberta Stevens. Ruth Dougherty and Alice Buchanan had the most lone hands. Nora Kelly won the special prize. There were seven tables at the lost heir card party Wednesday night at the Hall. Mary Walden and Millar Richmond had the high scores. Clara Rinn and Lloyd Walden had the low scores. Phyllis Boak won the special prize. Anne Chislett’s play “Yankee Notions” had its premiere at Ryerson Theatre in Toronto on February 20. Directed by James Roy, it was performed by members of Ryer­ son’s Theatre School. The set was designed by Tony Abrahms, a former designer at the Blyth Festi­ val. Among those who were on hand for opening night from Blyth and vicinity were Ron and Beverly Walker, Lynda and Stephanie Lentz, Duncan McGregor, Jo Manning, Al Beecroft, James and Judy Nichol and Sheila Richards. Also present were Janet Amos, Bjame Christiansen, David and Robin Craig, Jan Dutton and James Reaney.
