Dr. Maarten Bokhout, county Medical Officer of Health, explain ed to council that the Community Information Co-ordination Service for Seniors and People with Physi cal Disabilities in Huron County has been set up under an agree ment between the county’s Board of Health and the Ministry of Community and Social Services. Dr. Bokhout told council that the assistance for people with physical disabilities will be focussed on those over 18 since there are programs available for those under 18. The new service is aimed at helping the elderly and disabled get help by putting them in touch with the agency that can best assist them. This is the first time this kind of program has been attempted in Ontario, Dr. Bokhout told the council. “It is a reflection of the high regard in which staff at the Health Unit is held,” he said. “Effectively the province is saying if it’s going to work anywhere it’s going to work in Huron County.” The new program is headed by Brussels resident Bev Brown. The county is also looking at additional office space in Wingham for part of the program’s needs. Dr. Bokhout said he expected the cost to the county to be small as there is some provision for office facilities in the gram from the province. 1 96kg BRUSSEL SPROUTS .99 ANJOU PEARS .99 CRANNY SMITH APPLES .99 ENDIVE OR ESCAROLE .89..
