concerning the land purchase pro

BlythPee Wees set
to swing back into action
BY RUSTY BLADES
The Blyth Pee Wee’s have had a
light schedule over the holiday
season but are now getting back to
some serious action as they gear for
the play-offs.
On December 11 Jerrod Button
and Mike Bromley led Blyth past
Elma Logan 7 - 6. Button notched
the hat-trick and added two assists
while Bromley had a pair of goals
as well as two assists. Christopher
Howson picked up a goaf and an
assist and Brian McNichol added a
single tally. Additional assists were
credited to Benjie Hakkers and
Ryan Chamney.
One week later on December 18,
Zurich skated into town but left on
the wrong end of a 9-3 drubbing.
Once again Jerrod Button dented
the twine three times and also
delivered some punishing checks.
Not to be outdone, Mike Bromley
equalled Jerrod’s goal output, in
cluding a short-handed effort,
Wilful Damage: McKillop Town
ship between May 23 and 30, 1989.
A residence at Lot 1 Cone. 7 was
entered and $1500 in malicious
damage done when the culprit
kicked in a north door, entered and
once inside tore the cupboards off
the wall, knocked holes in the
kitchen walls, pulled the stove fan
down and pulled the doors off their
hinges. The culprit then ripped the
hand rail going upstairs off and
threw it through an upstairs win
dow. Before going upstairs the
perpetrator punched holes in the
living room walls.
Break Enter and Theft, Mt.
Carmel, Ontario on April 2, 1989
between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. thieves
broke into the Country Corners

worth $4,000. The thief or thieves
tore open an exterior west wall and
smashed their way into the build

attend the January 2 meeting to
discuss the proposed purchase of
land located south of the Brussels,
Morris and Grey Community Cen
tre. Council also'requested that a
copy of the current signed proposal
should be presented at that time.
Road Superintendent, Lloyd
while also picking up an assist.
Ryan Chamney had a two goal
game and Tim Lyons rounded out
the scoring on a pretty backhand
shot. Christopher Howson and
Peter Craig came through with two
assists each with single assists
going to Mike Johnston, Wilfred
Datema and Marc Bricker.
On Tuesday, December 19 the
Pee Wee’s travelled to Teeswater
for an exhibition contest. The
shorthanded Blyth team was shut
out 4-0 by Teeswater as two hectic
weeks of hockey ended. With a
long rest over the holidays the team
will no doubt recharge their batter
ies for the second half of the
season.

TRAIL OF STOLEN VEHICLES
On January 2, 1990 a 1984 green
coloured Pontiac, licence OCT-849
was stolen from the Town of
Clinton, driven to the 11th Cone, of
Goderich Township where it was
left with the engine running at the
end of the driveway to a residence
where a 1980 Ford F-10 pickup, red
coloured, licence MA8-588 was
stolen.
The thieves then drove the stolen
truck to the Village of Bayfield
where it was recovered with the
engine running on Main Street. It
is believed that the thieves then
stole a 1984 Chevrolet station
wagon, brown, licence 214-ALC
which was driven to the area of the
Paul Bunyan Camp, South of
Bayfield where it was driven into
the ditch. The thieves then left the
area in a 1981 Toyota 4-wheel drive
truck, blue and white bearing
licence DC7-524. The Toyota truck
has yet to be recovered.
Remember to remove the keys

Michie presented the quotes from
Lobb and Sons Ltd. in Clinton and
McGavin Farm Equipment in Wal
ton regarding the purchase of a
roadside mower. Council accepted
the quote of $4,752 from Mc-
Gavings.
Murray Musty attended on be
half of the Blyth Community Centre
to discuss the past year’s work and
also to bring to Council’s attention
that a new flooder for the Centre
would be required.
Council was notified that the
county will waive the payment of
fees for a subdivision plan which
has been applied for before the end
of December, 1989. The VanCamp
proposal on the south end of
Belgrave would fall under this
jurisdiction if it was submitted
before year end.
It was agreed that billing for
repair to the Nichol Municipal
Drain should be sent to Brussels
Cemetery for payment as it was
responsible for the damage.
Council accepted the proposal of
Keith Adams to proceed with the
road closure of the land adajeent to
Lot 49 on condition of approval
from Turnberry township. If ap
proval is received Council authoriz
ed Clerk Nancy Michie to proceed
with closure with Mr. Adams being
responsible for any costs involved.
