Annual Christmas Concerts
Presented by School Pupils
The biggest school event of the year,
the annual Christmas concert, was
held in the community hall on Thurs-
day evening, The hall had been taste-
fully decorated with colored streamers
and pine boughs and the opening
chorus gave the pleasing effect of the
whole school singing in a forest of
evergreens.
One of the pupils, Douglas Fischer,
made a capable chairman. There were
solos, carols, recitations and action
songs, In one number all the nursery
rhyme favorites from Old King Cole
to Jack and Jill ,came to life and,
cunningly dressed for their parts, re-
cited the old time familiar lines, The
operetta, "Old Cross Patch" with the
scene laid in Holland, was presented
by a group of boys and girls who sang
and danced and made merry on
Christmas Eve, using some real wood-
en shoes.
At the conclusion Santa Claus
danced onto the stage and completely
captivated the children by his drol-
leries. He was never seen before in
such gay, good humor. The pupils
put on a good show under the dir-
ection of their teacher, Mr, Camp-
bell Brown, and the music supervisor,
Miss Marion MacDonald.
