Mason's Hold Ladies' Night
Fordwieh A,F, & AM, held a ladies'
night on Thursday evening, when
members and their ladies numbering
about 70 sat down to a sumptuous
turkey banquet in the Fordwieh Un-
ited Church, served by the Woman's
Association.
E. W. Patterson was master of
ceremonies, following the banquet and
proposed a toast to the King, The
toast to the ladies was proposed by
Norman Wade, Mrs. Howard Ha Reis
responding, Speakers were Rev. R. 3,
Boggs, Molesworth, and Adam Dodd,
Listowel, as well as members who
had come from a distance, Otto Sie-
fert, Galt, and Irwin Gibson, Listowel,
who spoke briefly.
A social time followed at the com-
munity hail, where euchre was play-
ed, Minnie 1VIcElwaine and -Herbie
Roberts conducted an interesting con-
test. Members and visitors were pre-
sent from Strathroy, Galt, Wingham,
and Molesworth. the way, had exchanged pulpits with
the regular preacher ,and he found
not a penny in it. He inverted the
.1 I hat over the pulpit cushion and shook
it, that its emptiness might be known,
then raising his eyes to the ceiling,
he exclaimed with great fervor.
"I thank God that I got back my
hat from this congregation."

Mr. Crosby Sothern, Strathroy, at-
tended the Masonic banquet on Thurs-
day night and visited with friends for
a couple of days.
Mr, and Mrs. Ed. Williams of God-
erich, visited recently with Mr. and
Mrs. E. W, Patterson.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wendt and baby
of Toronto, spent last week-end with
Mrs. Wendt's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Ward Schaefer.
WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
The regular meeting of th e Wom-
en's Institute will be held in the
Council Chamber on Thursday after-
noon, December 13th., at 2.30 p.m. A
Christmas Story will be given by Mrs.
Kirby, of the Salvation Army ;a dem-
onstrattion on making shortbread.
Duet by Mrs. (Dr.) B. N. Corrin and
Mrs. Ross Hamilton.

gifts the members are asked to please
donate new or good used, clean
clothing, baby layettes, or anything
that could be used in a bale for
Unitarian Relief for Greece. Anyone
other than members are welcome to
donate these articles, which will be
packed and sent as soon as possible.

Walker was in charge of devotional
period assistei. by Joan Hiseler and

"Visiting Missions AcreseCanada"
Rev. Moores of Belgrave was the
guest speaker and showed interesting
pictures of "Missions in Newfound-
land." Vice-president, Marjorie Guest,
was in charge of the business. A
delightful social hour followed.
