THE WING LAX ADVANCX- WINDNE0SDAY:. OOTOPER 17, 1951 IWV*411,
Highlights from the High School
Mr. Kni4ht was born at Brussels.
He attended Brussels and Listowel
High School, Later he went to Tor-
Onto University, Before coming to
Wingham Mr. Knight taught at
Wrox.eter Continuation School
several years. He is married and has '
two boys. His hobby so he says is
Grade 10C. Ha! Ha! He thinks W.
I),H.S. is splendid.
You will notice that we have no
glowing terms to describe Wednes-
day's rugby game at Guderich, nut
spite of the fact that they defeated us
10-5 we still think we have the best
team in the league. Keith Anderson
got Wing ham's only touchdown. The
next game is in Wingliam O. t. 17,
with Seaforth. Hope we see you all
there cheering for our buys.
Special notice to all gas stations
between Wing,ham and Seaforth:
On October 24 Wingham journeys to
Seaforth for another rugby game. A
certain Model .\ will be calling so
please have your water can full and
your air pump ready,
W.D.H,S. at the Fair
by Isabel Dennis
,Many Wingham students attended
the fair at Brussels and Teeswater.
The comment we heard must often at
Brussels Fair was "Bro., is it ever
cold!" Some of us were disappointed;
there was no ferris wheel. But there
was cotton candy and a Brussels
business man was handing out free
balloons. What more, could you ask?
At Teeswater Fair everyone was
saying 1Whew is it ever hot!" This
fair was complete with ferris wheel,
cotton candy, toy balloons and taffy
apples, These are treats intended to
delight the younger children, of
course, but we saw our students en-
joying them, even the sedate old folks
in Fifth Form.
At both of these fairs, a fine dis-
play of work from our Shop Work
classes was exhibited. Mr. Vogan, the
shop teacher was on hand to tell
passers-by about the various articles
shown. This past year the boys have
made some beautiful furniture, includ-
ing lainps, tables, occasional chairs
and desks, The most interesting part
of the display at feeswater was a
wood-lathe, Nvilleh seas shown in oper-
ation by the Grade IN Teeswater
boys.
Thousands of gallons of yellow and
green paint, hundreds of new stalls
and tons of cement for a new floor
have been used.
Greatest change will be seen in the
portable stalls which have replaced
permanent Stalls, The new stalls can

year to provide additional floor space
for other events and exhibitions. Last
year a new ventilating system was in-

hobby is housekeeping. This is a
comparatively new hobby as most of
us know but it will no doubt be a
lasting and successful one, We hope
for her husband's sake that she is a

of W.D,H.S, is "I think it's wonder-

Our New Teachers
Eleanor Wightman and John I-Ianna
We have four new teachers this year
at W,D,H,S. Personal interviews with
each revealed the following secrets.
Mr. ,Martin was born in Newcastle
many (not really so many) unknown
years ago. He attended Brighton High
School and later the University of
Toronto, He taught for two years at
Madoc High School before honouring
W.D.H,S, with his'presence, His hob-
bies include stamp collecting and
singing, Having heard hint at Glee
Club it is understandable why the
United Church choir was glad to
have him in their tenor section (ten
or twelve miles away, naturally!)
WItether he indulges in the bathtub
variety or not 1 won't venture to say,
Perhaps his wife or kiddies (two little
daughters) could tell you this. When
asked his opinion of W.D.1I.S. he
said and I quote "1 think the same
as everybody else." What do you
mean by this Mr, Martin?
Mrs. Williams was born in Rich-
wood. West Virginia, U.S.A. She at-
tended High School at Kincardine,
Ontario. and graduated from Victoria

And hospitals know it well! In this gleaming hospital
kitchen, aluminum cooking utensils do a double
job, They meet the highest hygienic standards because
aluminum is ideal in contact with food. And they cook
hospital meals more quickly because aluminum
heats so evenly. Millions of Canadian homemakers, too,
protect the flavour and quality of everything they
cook by using aluminum utensils,
