The comment we heard must often at Brussels Fair was "Bro., is it ever cold!" Some of us were disappointed; there was no ferris wheel. But there was cotton candy and a Brussels business man was handing out free balloons. What more, could you ask? At Teeswater Fair everyone was saying 1Whew is it ever hot!" This fair was complete with ferris wheel, cotton candy, toy balloons and taffy apples, These are treats intended to delight the younger children, of course, but we saw our students en- joying them, even the sedate old folks in Fifth Form. At both of these fairs, a fine dis- play of work from our Shop Work classes was exhibited. Mr. Vogan, the shop teacher was on hand to tell passers-by about the various articles shown. This past year the boys have made some beautiful furniture, includ- ing lainps, tables, occasional chairs and desks, The most interesting part of the display at feeswater was a wood-lathe, Nvilleh seas shown in oper- ation by the Grade IN Teeswater boys. Thousands of gallons of yellow and green paint, hundreds of new stalls and tons of cement for a new floor have been used. Greatest change will be seen in the portable stalls which have replaced permanent Stalls, The new stalls can he removed at any time during the year to provide additional floor space for other events and exhibitions. COAST TO COAST Our New Teachers Eleanor Wightman and John I-Ianna We have four new teachers this year at W,D,H,S. Personal interviews with each revealed the following secrets. Mr. ,Martin was born in Newcastle many (not really so many) unknown years ago. He attended Brighton High School and later the University of Toronto, He taught for two years at Madoc High School before honouring W.D.H,S, with his'presence, His hob- bies include stamp collecting and singing, Having heard hint at Glee Club it is understandable why the United Church choir was glad to have him in their tenor section (ten or twelve miles away, naturally!) WItether he indulges in the bathtub variety or not 1 won't venture to say, Perhaps his wife or kiddies (two little daughters) could tell you this. When asked his opinion of W.D.1I.S. he said and I quote "1 think the same as everybody else." What do you mean by this Mr, Martin? Mrs. Williams was born in Rich- wood. West Virginia, U.S.A.
