erts and family are leaving the par-

choir sang the anthem, "We praipe
Thee, 0 God," and Mrs. W. Brydges
sang a solo, "Hold Thou My Hand,"
The Rector, Rev. J. A. Roberts was
in charge of the service and in his
farewell sermon urged that all would
try to have a spirit of thankfulness.

grave the annual meeting' of the Brit-
ish and Foreign Bible Society, Bel-
grave branch at s o'clock, This meet-
ing is for all the churches in the vil-
lage, and it is hoped that a large at-
tendenee will be Present, The secre-
tary, Rev. W. H Moore of Toronto,
will be present and will show a film
in technicolor, entitled, 'Frontiers-
men'l depicting the work of the Bible
Society from Winnipeg to Vancouver,
On Wednesday evening, September
26th., there will be a meeting of the
Y.13,1T. of Knox Chureh, for the pur-
pose of Organization and Programme
interpretation. It is expected that Of-
ficers of the Presbytery Y.P.U, will ze
present. A good attendance is request-
ed,
Mr. Oliv Jacobson of Hamilton vis-
ited last week at the home of M.
and Mrs. Leander Good and Mr, and
Mrs. .Malcolm Mundell, Kenneth and
David also of Hamilton, spent Sun-
day there.
Quite a number from this district
enjoyed a day at the Western Fair
last week,
Mr. Harris Purdon returned to
Chapleau, Northern Ontario last week
and Wm. Purdon accompanied him
for a few days, going by way of Sar-
nia and Port Huron and motoring
through Michigan crossing at the Soo.
The Varley families left last week
and will now reside near Granton.
Dr. and Mrs. Gordon Stonehouse
and daughters leave this week for
their home in Phoenix, Arizona, after
spending the summer with relatives
here, and Mrs. Stonehouse returned
here last week after nursing at Maine
Chance Farm, Mount Vernon, Maine,
during the summer.
Miss Elsie Rieman of Owen Sound,
spent a few days last week with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm, Eieman,
and Mr. Art King of Owen Sound
visited with them on Sunday.
Mrs. 0, G, Anderson was in Kitch-
ener last Wednesday and addressed
a meeting of the Kitchener-Waterloo
Consumer's Co-Operative Co. during
the evening.

entertained the Ladies Guild of

United Church W.M.S.
Mrs, E. Anderson, president, was
in charge of the meeting on Septein,
ber 6th., in the church basement. The
attendance was small, The Call to
Worship was from Deuteronomy 8: 7-
8-9, The hymn, "Lord of the Lands"
was sung followed by reading Psalm
72 in unison. The president then of-
fered prayer. The secretary and treas-
urer gave their reports and the offer-
ing was received. The Auxiliary is in-
vited to meet with the Evening
Auxiliary in October, when Mrs.
Grierson of Londesboro will be the
special speaker.
The program "The Church of the
Frontiers" began the study of Home
Missions, Mrs. J. Anderson and Mrs.
W. Kelly represented "Canada" and
"Home Missions," Mrs. E, Anderson
gave a report on "From Lakes to Nor-
thern Lights", and Mrs, J. Wheeler
from Home Mission Digest. The clos-
ing hymn was "From Ocean Unto
Ocean."
Junior Institute
Home Canning was the theme of
the regular meeting of the Belgrave
Junior Institute held in the Com-
munity Centre on September 13th.
The roll call was answered by giv-
ing a helpful hint on home canning.
Dorothy Pattison was convener and
gave an informative talk on home
canning. She outlined the reasons for
canning and the various methods of
canning fruits and vegetables, She
advised the members to abide by the
rules, or canning can be costly. The
president, June Lear conducted a De-
partment of Agriculture quiz on
Nutrition.
Bible Society Annual Meeting
The annual meeting of the Bible
Society will be held in the basement
of the United Church on Monday
evening, September 24th., at 8.30 p.m.
The Rev., W. H. Moore, district secre-
tary of Toronto, will be present and
present a coloured filhm "Frontiers-
men" which has to do with the work
from Winnipeg to Vancouver. Every-
body in the community is invited to
attend.
