Opposes Deer Hunt
The Morris Council met in the
TownShip Hall on Sept. 4th., with all
the members present. The minutes of
the last meeting and special meeting
were read and adopted on motion of
Sam Akock and Wm. Peacock.
Moved by Sam Alcook, seconded by
Chas. Coulees that the following reso-
lution be passed and sent to the De-
partment of Game and Fisheries pro-
hibiting the open season for hunting
deer in Morris 'i ownship.
Resolution:
Whereas the council or the Town-
ship of Morris feel that an open sea-
son in the township would be very
dangerous for the residents and their
livestock as the hunters use high
powered rifles;
Lad whereas the Council do not
feel that the deer are overplentiful
in the township;
'ihevefore be it resolved by the
Council of the Township of Morris
that there should not be an open
season for the hunting of deer in the
said Township of Morris,
'Moved by Chas, Coultes, seconded
by Alcoelc that the following re-
solution be passed and sent to the
Federation of Agriculture to try to
get adequate insurance for the pro-
teetion of the cattle owner in regard
to warble fly spraying.
Resolution:
Whereas there is legislation in Ont-
ario whereby the treatment for war-
ble fly can be made compulsory and
as this act has been put in force in
the Township of Morris for the past
few years;
And whereas. it does not appear
that tir:", is any company that will
sell ineurance for adequate protection
for the motile owner in the matter of
spraying cattle;
Therefore be it resolved that we,
the Council of the Township of Mor-
ris requvat the Pederntion of Agri-
