a summary of the work of the year

Sylvia Davidson of Grey County pre-
siding, Waterloo county presented.:

ty spoke on "Working with Wool."

one of them twelve years of age had

of three girls who won the Canadian

received a week's course in Toronto

District Delegates Attend
Eleventh Annual W. L Meet

There were .350. delegates in attend-
nnee at Memorial Hall, Guelph, on
Tuesday anti Wednesday of last week,
with Districts 10.11-12 comprised of
Halton,. Waterloo North and South,
Wellington South, North mid ,Centre,
Grey South, Perth North and Centre,
13rtece and Huron East, represented.
The Theme for the .convention was
"To understand the world is better
than to condemn it, to study the
World is better than to abuse it; to
make the world better, lovelier and
h appier, is the noblest work of any
Man or woman."
Chairman, Mrs. J. R. White of Rip-
ley presided and in her address en-
larged on the Theme. Representing
the provincial president, Mrs. Pur-
cell of Fort William, was Mrs. Ridley
of Caledonia, provincial vice-preen
dent, Mrs. E. V. Thompson of Arias
was convention se cretary.Twenty-
two resolutions were presented by the
convener, Mrs. \ eime Norris of Mil-
ton. Mrs. Henderson and Mrs. Kirby
both of Guelph, led in assembly sing-
ing. Special guests at the convention
were four English lawns, tn-o of whom
Mrs, Fox and Mrs Eat, epoke brief-

"A Story to Tell to the Nations,"
was the memo W11011 United Church
neeenny School held their rally day.
Members of the Sunday school and
their teachers occupied the front
pews in the church, a eripted form
of service was used and the special
number by the choir, "We've a Story
to Tell to the Nations," Rev, E. W.
Todd told the story of an African
boy who became a minister. Two
years ago he was a delegate from
Angola to the World conference of
Sunday schools held in Toronto. The
special offering was given to the
work of the United Church in teach-
ing the children around the world.
Mr. Todd announced a meeting In the
church schoolroom on Friday even-
ing at 7.30 for girls over eight years
of age. The following week the boys
Tyro club will meet at 7.30 in the
church schoolroom.
