W.M.S. Meets at. Home of
Mrs. Robinson in Wingbarn

and Mission Band
The W.IVT.S• held their August
-Meeting on Tuesday afternoon at the ,
home of Mrs, J. O. Rebinson Wsng,
'ham. The following programme was
arranged and presided over by Mrs.
Chamney.
The 23rd. Psalm was read in uni-
son followed by prayer, solo by Miss
Elaine Jefferson, reading on Christian
Stewardship by Mrs. Edw. Robinson;
article on "Japan" read by Mrs. Nor-
Man Thompson. Mrs., Arnold Craig
read an article entit1ed "Why Foreign
Missions?" Poems were read by Mrs.
Mark Armstrong and Miss Elaine
Jefferson. Miss Lucy Thompson was
guest speaker taking as her subject,
"The Bible," and also spoke on the
life of Robert Louis Stephenson. The
.Minutes of the previous meeting were
approved as read and the meeting
closed by singing "Breathe on Me
Breath of God." Lunch was served.
Assisting hostesses were, Mrs, Stuart
Chamney and Mrs. Edw, Robinson,
Sgt. and Mrs, Herb Dainty of Camp
Borden, were week-end visitors here.
Master Jim Robinson returned home
with them after spending a couple
of weeks at Camp Borden.
Misses Elaine Jefferson and Joan
Doerr are spending a few days at the
.Tofferson's cottage at Port Elgin,
Mrs. a H. Doerr, who is visiting
at her home here, spent a few days
in Blyth and Wingharn,
Neil MacLean of Toronto, is visiting.
with his cousin, Bob Jefferson.
Mr, and Mrs. R. Chamney were
among the guests at the Craig-Castle
wedding at Hayfield on Saturday.
Miss Grace Thortpson has returned
from a visit with her brother, Mr, Ed-
win Thompson, Mrs, Thompson and
family,
Henry-Rowley
In St. Mark's Church, Parkdale,
with Rev. J, M, Jackson officiating at
the evening ceremony, the marriage
took place of Allison Joy, daughter
of Mrs, Rowley and the late W, M.
Rowley, to Harold James Henry, of
Georgetown, son of Mr. and Mrs.
James A. Henry of Wingham.
Mr. Arthur T. Hanna gave the bride
in marriage. With her graceful gown
of petal pink embroidered organdy
over white taffeta the bride wore a
shoulder cape. The full skirt ended in
a short train, She wore a poke bon-
net with fingtertip veil of petal pink
tulle caught with ostrich tips and
carried gardenias and Johanna Hill
roses.
Gowned alike in meadow green net
over taffeta her attendants were
Miss Patricia Cole, maid of honour.
Misses Frances Kirby, Donna Henry,
sister of the groom, and Helen Jane
MacDonald. Their iresses had shir-
red bodices and bouffant skirts; they
wore elbow-length capes of pleated
net with Peter Pan collars; daisy-
covered caps with long green velvet
streamers and carried nosegays of
Shasta daisies and ruffle gladioli in
shades of mauve and yellow.
Mr. C. Donald Lloyd was grooms-
man and Mr. James S. Hall played
the bridal music. Ushers were Jack
Lloyd, Grant Rutherford and William
R. Checkley.
A reception followed at Kilcooley
Lodge, the bride's mother wearing a
floor-length gown of dusty rose with
grey rose-plumed hat and grey acces-
sories. The groom's mother wore
powder blue floor-length goVin of
Chantilly lace, black velvet hat and
black accessories.
The bride and groom left for a trip
through the Maritimes and Neu
England States after which they will
reside in Georgetown.

The members of the W.M.S, enter-
tained the members of the Mission
Band on Wednesday aternoon at the
home of Mrs, Norman McDowell. The
devotional programme was led by
Mrs. Arnold Vint, The meeting oPen.
od with a call to worship. Children's
hymns were sung throughout the
Meeting. The Scripture lesson was
read by Ruth Cook from Luke 18, 15-
27 verses. Prayer was led by Mrs,
Marvin McDowell, Mrs. Stanley Cook
and Mrs. Thomas 13iggerstaff, with
the Lord's prayer in unison, Readings
were given by Gordon Smith, Ronald
Snell, Mrs. J, L, McDowell, solo by
Bakke de Hann, duet by Betty Blair
and John McDowell. Piano solo,
Gwendolyn McDowell, The guest
speaker was Miss Margaret Jackson
of Auburn, who told the children stor-
ies of Korean children and Canadian
children.
The president Mrs. McVittie was
in charge of the business, Twenty-
three ladies answered the roll call.
It was decided to hold the next meet-
ing on Sept. 14th, A committee was
appointed to prepare the revue for
the Sectional meeting in Oct. The
meeting closed with prayer by the
president, Lunch was served and a
social time was spent,

and Mrs. Cliff Ritchie, of Walton.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Vint and fam-
ily, visited on Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Hansford and Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Simpson of Dorchester.
Miss 'Betty Vint returned home with
them. Mrs. Harry Simpson and Mrs.
Jim Smith and baby, Gloria, accomp-
anied them home for a week's visit,
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hayden, Alice
and Linda, of Wingham, visited on
Sunday with Mr, and Mrs, Gordon
Smith.
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Bosman
visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs,
Jack Rosman of Walton. Miss Shirley
who had spent a week with her
grandparents, returned home with
them,
Miss Barbara Smith is attending
the girls' camp at the school camp
north of Goderich.
Miss Mildred Thornton of Wing-

her friend, Mrs. Harvey McDowell.
Mr. and Mrs. H, I. Smith, Mrs. J. E.
Ford, Mrs, Frank Campbell and Miss
Winnif red, were Orangeville and Col-
lingwood visitors on Friday.
Miss Ruth Cook spent the week-
end with Mildred Cook of Belgrave.
Miss Mary Tunney of Brantford, is
visiting her cousin, Mrs. Walter Cook.
Rev. and Mrs. Queen of Pittsburg,
visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs,
Harvey McDowell.
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Reeves of Free-
land, Mich.:visited on Monday at the
home of Mr. and Mrs, Earl Wightman.
Mr. WM. Spier of Toronto, visited
last week with Mr. and Mrs. Arthur

Mrs. Walter Cook visited recently
with her sister, Mrs. Jean Kechnie,

Mr. Connor, who has been assisting
Mr. Douglas Campbell for the past
two months, returned to his home in
